..The Forest Service Sawtooth Avalanche Center in Ketchum has
CONTINUED an AVALANCHE WARNING which is in effect until Wednesday 8:00 PM MDT
* WHAT...The avalanche danger for warning area is HIGH.
* WHERE...The Sawtooth, Smoky, White Cloud, Boulder, Soldier, and
Pioneer Mountains, including the mountains near Stanley, Atlanta, Smiley Creek, Galena Summit, Ketchum, Hailey, Bellevue, Carey, and Fairfield. The backcountry avalanche warning does not apply to highway avalanche programs or operating ski areas.
* WHEN...In effect until Wednesday 8:00 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist. Human-
triggered avalanches large enough to snap trees and destroy a wood frame house are very likely. Natural avalanches are possible. Avalanches could impact roadways, trails, and structures in the valley bottom.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Avoid all avalanche terrain. Very large avalanches may reach the valley floor. Stay off of and out from below steep slopesslopes
steeper than about 30 degrees. Avalanches may be triggered
remotely from flat terrain above, below, and to the sides of steep slopes.

coverage area of this or any avalanche center.
