San Diego Comic Con lived up to the HYPE!!!
But I will say it was not for the faint of heart. You definitely need to have a game plan and know who you want to see, what you want to buy, and your overall experience.
During the four day show I hit on the main things, met a lot of new artists and reconnected with some familiar faces. One of those being a highlight was getting to talk with Todd McFarlane again. I first met him on Oahu at The Amazing Comic Con Aloha addition.
To find out what I got from him and several other artists like Eric Powell and Bill Morrison, and to hear the stories behind it I did a 3 Part Video Comic Book Haul on Patreon. It is available right now so when you join you can binge watch the entire series.
I will say SDCC is almost TOO big. If you want to go to a comic con with comics you should try to find a smaller show like Maui Comic Con. I just got accepted for Artist Alley in December and I will also be on Oahu for Amazing in November. If you want exclusives and you want to see Movie Stars definitely go to SDCC. But be prepared to wait an in enormous line. With that being said I've been doing conventions for 15 years and SDCC is in a class of its own. I'm going to apply for SDCC Artist Alley so if you attend look out for me next year.
