WILDCATS VS KNIGHTS The Guntersville boys are taking on Arab at home tonight with an area win up for grabs.

The Wildcats are on a hot streak at the end of the 1st, leading 20-4 after starting off with 13 unanswered points.

The Wildcats are holding a commanding 31-15 lead at the half.

It's the end of the 3rd and the Wildcats are still on top 41-28.

RIVALRY GAME The Guntersville Lady Wildcats have tipped off against the Arab Knights at home.

The Wildcats are trailing 17-10 at the end of the 1st after back to back baskets by Arab.

The score is 29-18 at the half, the Wildcats will need to come back swinging to close the gap.

The Knights are holding strong heading in to the 4th period. They're still on top 46-32.

THE END. The Arab Knights have taken the win with a final score of 63-42. Avery George was the top scorer for the Wildcats with 12 points.

BREAKING SPORTS NEWS FROM THE AHSAA:
Guntersville High School Fined, forfeits Games
For Violation of AHSAA Transfer Rule
MONTGOMERY –Guntersville High School’s varsity girls’ basketball program has been fined and placed on probation for playing an ineligible player in violation of the AHSAA Transfer Rule. The violation was self-reported by the school.
As a result, Guntersville’s program must forfeit all games won that the ineligible student participated in. The ineligible player will be assessed restitution for the contests the student participated in while ineligible. Guntersville High School reported the student participated in 14 games.

The Lady Wildcats were 8-5 and ranked No. 4 in the state in 5A.

AREA SHOWDOWN The Brindlee Mountain basketball team is hosting Asbury tonight. Brindlee moved areas this season, which means there's an area win on the line.

It's the end of the 1st and Asbury is on a roll leading 27-5.
