Organized Chaos

This abstract, brutalist style of architecture is what I gravitate to when I don't have a plan. I just let myself layer into the sand, figuring it out as I go. It's soothing to sculpt and that's exactly what I needed.

It has been so hard to come out and sculpt. I have been grieving my dog, Dexter after having to put him down over the holidays. I process my thoughts and emotions through my art and I just wasn't ready yet. Today, I made myself come out anyway... No expectations or plans, just some time thinking about the amazing dog I had.

It takes a village

I challenged myself to make a collection of buildings rather than my usual large detailed pieces. I enjoyed trying to make them all a bit different. The cliffs are a cool technique I haven't used in a looooong time.

Very cool!

Frozen waves of…sand? Sand rolled and frozen. I’ve come out here many many years, and I have never seen this before. The wind is so strong it folded sheets of sand and froze them… tons of content today

The Creel house is Vecna's lair in Stranger Things

As soon as I saw this house, I knew it had to be made into sand. I edited two different versions, one with music and one without.

Help me name him!

I sculpted this Walrus after only making architectural sculptures for awhile. I absolutely love how free flowing this process is. The wrinkles are satisfying and the seashell eyeballs made him come to life!

Home Alone!?

This satisfying process of sculpting details takes hours. They don't last long but filming the process is a way for me to keep them alive and share with the world. Many people call my art a waste but to me, it is my passion and my job.

What am I listening to?

This is what we call the pound up process in sand sculpting. I am using a round form to compact the layers of sand with water. This hard pack method is how I am able to sculpt fine details without it falling apart.
