The Gulf Shores Police Department not only protects the community, they show kindness and care about the people within the city!

It has been said that nothing in police work is routine. This truth rang clear during a seemingly ordinary beach patrol when Officers Rhodes, Clary, and Baker encountered an unexpected moment of community connection.

Spotting a child whose kite had been snatched away by the wind, Officer Rhodes quickly jumped into action. Springing from the UTV, he chased the runaway kite across the sandy expanse, determined to bring it back to its rightful owner. His agility and persistence paid off when he successfully captured the kite and returned it to the grateful family.

A simple act of kindness like this reminds us that police work isn't just about enforcing the law—it's about serving the community in countless, meaningful ways. Nice save, Officer Rhodes!
