Woodworker and artist Bud Rogers of Jackson, Alabama, will receive statewide and national exposure with a feature on Simply Southern TV.

The show will premiere locally on Sunday, Feb. 18, at 6 a.m. on WPMI-TV 15 and will be rebroadcast on national cable network RFD-TV on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 3 p.m. Central time.

“Bud Rogers has the unique ability to turn a piece of wood into a work of art. A lifelong woodworker, he took up wood turning about 15 years ago when he taught himself the craft,” said Simply Southern reporter Melissa Bowman. “At his lathe, he produces a variety of items, including his popular multi-colored Christmas ornaments that combine different types of wood.”

Those interested in seeing Bud’s work can find a selection of his items at Black Belt Treasures in Camden.

In 2024, Simply Southern TV is celebrating 10 years with special reflections throughout this season.

Every week, viewers can catch the show on the following channels:

WSFA-TV 12 in Montgomery on Saturdays at 5 a.m.

WPMI-TV 15 in Mobile on Sundays at 6 a.m.

WBMA-TV 33/40 in Birmingham on Sundays at 6:30 a.m.

WAFF-TV 48 in Huntsville on Sundays at 9 a.m.

RFD-TV cable network on Wednesdays at 3 p.m.

Simply Southern TV is a 30-minute show that celebrates Alabama’s farmers, gardeners, makers, rural communities and one-of-a-kind destinations. Episodes are also available on the show’s website at www.SimplySouthernTV.net.

Simply Southern TV is presented by the Alabama Farmers Federation, but it’s made possible through sponsorships. Those include major sponsor Alabama Farmers Cooperative; supporting sponsor Alfa Insurance; sustaining sponsors Alabama Catfish Producers, Alabama Soybean Producers; and Alabama Wheat & Feed Grain Producers; and contributing sponsors Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation and Sweet Grown Alabama.

10PM UPDATE… SpaceX has officially scrubbed (cancelled) the AX-3 splashdown originally scheduled to happen Tuesday evening off Pensacola Beach due to unfavorable seas/weather conditions. Details on the rescheduled splashdown have not yet been announced.

Cancelled: LOOK NORTHWEST AROUND 5:15PM TUESDAY TO POTENTIALLY SEE A FIREBALL... The SpaceX AX-3 mission is slated to return to Earth on Tuesday evening around 5:15PM CST. You may be able to step outside and see a long-lasting red or white fireball entering the atmosphere high in the sky and streaking toward Earth as the Dragon capsule moves from northwest to southeast toward its splashdown point south of Pensacola, FL in the northern Gulf. A brief sonic boom may also be possible. Look toward the northwest horizon starting around 5:10PM Central Time on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. The splash down is tentatively scheduled to happen around 5:26PM CST.

Clear skies tomorrow evening should make this a great opportunity for south Alabama and northwest Florida to witness space history! Good opportunity for kids across the area to see modern spaceflight in action.

Here is the SpaceX website for the specific mission: https://www.spacex.com/launches/mission/?missionId=ax-3
