"Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Mt. Hood Community College is a six-month training program accredited by the Oregon Department of Education and the Oregon Health Authority, EMS & Trauma Systems Program. Practical, hands-on training is provided for individuals seeking employment as a Fire Officer, EMT or career path to become a Paramedic. Opportunities also exist with home health agencies, emergency rooms, urgent care clinics and hospital transportation services.
Our EMT program follows that National Standard Curriculum set forth by the US Department of Transportation/National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This includes the didactic, practical, clinical, and field internship training, which qualifies the student to take the State of Oregon EMT Basic and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) examinations."
