The History Behind Hank!

If I remember correctly, Hank came to us thanks to either a purchase or a game win by reporter Jay King during a Greer Family Fest (circa early 2010's, I believe).

He quickly became our unofficial alien mascot. He would make many trips to other festival booths through the years–even providing the entertainment with a selfie station during the 2015 Family Fest. That is when he acquired his signature attire.

Other days he would just hang out in a corner of the office where he would get interesting looks and comments from anyone who happened in.

Hank is feeling a little deflated these days (as are we and the community).

But it's been fun.

Thanks, Greer, for the memories!

✨ Join us this Sunday ✨

We are honored to announce that the End Of Watch: Ride to Remember 2024, presented by Beyond the Call of Duty, is making a stop at the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office— this Sunday, June 30th, from 12:30-2:00pm.

This Sunday will mark day 30 of their 73 day ride across the United States. The citizens of Spartanburg County are invited to help us support Beyond the Call of Duty and honor the Fallen Officers from 2022-2023, including our very own Austin Aldridge.

They will arrive with a 40ft memorial trailer and 4 motorcycles. It’s an event for the whole family!!

Beyond the Call of Duty is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to First Responders. “Our purpose is to ensure that no officer is forgotten, that their families know their loved one has not been forgotten; and that there is recognition, support and understanding to help them heal. We also support department safety and training to help lower the number of fallen officers we see each year. Together, we can make a difference”

Follow along with their journey here:
