The Lady Witches faced a tough defeat against Stillwater in the Section 2 Class C Championship game on Saturday at HVCC. Known for their high-scoring ability and averaging 69.6 points per game, Greenwich struggled offensively, finishing with just 15 of 57 shooting. Despite having beaten Stillwater twice earlier in the season, the Witches were unable to find their rhythm as the Warriors applied aggressive defense, resulting in a 49-42 upset. Brooke Kuzmich led Greenwich with 11 points, while senior Grace Auteillo added 9 points. Riley Brophy contributed 4 points, and defensive specialist Luna Wiebe played a key role in the team’s success, which boasts an impressive 93-4 record over the last four seasons. —DAN PEMRICK PHOTOS
