We're thankful for our founder, Samuel Lowry, and his desire to serve the Lord by starting Emerald House Group, which operates in the US as Ambassador International. We're thankful for God's providence for these past 45 years. And we're thankful for YOU, dear readers, because without you, we wouldn't be able to do what we do. In the United States alone, around 30 million people will suffer from an eating disorder at some point in their life. begins the last Monday in February and is a week to educate people about the realities of eating disorders and to provide hope, support, and visibility to individuals and families affected by them. Addictions can come in many forms, not only eating disorders, and these strongholds can be broken when we surrender to God. Two Ambassador International authors have written books on the subject of eating disorders to help people do just that.

Pausing with Purpose by CJ Vegtor is a set of 47 devotions written to help people navigate the Lenten season.

The collection offers wonderful insight into what it truly means to have faith, the importance of being still with God in times of waiting, and finding reassurance and peace in the resurrection of life Christ provides.

It is beautifully written with each day including a verse from the Bible, an anecdote or reflection from the author’s personal story, questions to make you think and make connections to your own situation, a prayer, and space to take any notes.

Though designed for Lent, this devotional can be just as impactful read anytime in the year! Some stand out lessons for me include but are not limited to:

❤️Changing perspective on failure is vital in our understanding of hope. Further, God’s point of view and plan is greater than our own.

❤️An unanswered prayer is not necessarily a denial.

❤️Imperfections are a means to shine and share the light of Jesus.

❤️”Whatever dies, new life always comes from it” (pg 80)

❤️We must be still and respond to nudges from the Holy Spirit.

❤️Our relationship with God should always come first.

And so many more!! There was not a single day that I did not pick up my highlighter. This set of devotions came into my life at the perfect time for me. I’m so thankful for this book and will be revisiting again and again. 🙏🏼
