Another example of Hunt County being one community was shown Tuesday December 3rd by the Hunt County Sheriff's Office , led by Sheriff Terry Jones. The Hunt County Sheriff’s Office coordinated with other law enforcement agencies to cover police respons in the City of Greenville on Tuesday which allowed the Greenville Police Department to say goodbye to Officer Cooper Dawson, Badge 366.
For 24 hours, the Hunt County Sheriff’s Dispatchers were amazing handling all the 911 calls for service for the City of Greenville, along with the regular calls they handle in Hunt County, allowing Greenville Police Dispatchers the opportunity to attend Officer Dawson’s service. The Hunt County Sheriff’s Dispatchers not only handled Greenville calls for service, they communicated with Police Officers and Sheriff’s Deputies from outside Hunt County. These Dispatchers were smooth in providing directions and routes for the outside LEOs, while experiencing double their normal work load. Job well done HCSO Dispatch.

The Hunt County Sheriff’s Deputies worked diligently alongside not only Police Officers from cities within Hunt County, there were multiple Police Officers, Sheriff’s Deputies, and DPS Troopers from outside Hunt County, some traveled over 60 miles, to cover the City of Greenville along with the rest of the County.

The Hunt County Detention Center booked eleven felony suspects on Tuesday, including one suspect who fled from an assualt scene in Greenville and was captured by Lindale Police Officers, and two suspect who engaged in a foot chase with out of County LEOs in Greenville. Hunt County Sheriff's Deputies took custody of all those suspects and booked them into jail.

Thank you Hunt County Sheriff Terry Jones, and all of the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office.

Rumor Control

Earlier Tuesday an anonymous post on a Greenville community page announced that Ernie's Pit Barbeque was being sold and the new owner would be changing things. The current owner of Ernie's has addressed the post.

"I do plan to sell however the deal is far from finalized & will not be for sometime. As far as I know the menu isn’t changing. I am staying on for sometime to ensure an easy transition & to help maintain my same quality. That is from me. The source. The only source."

Ernie's is still smoking (see what I did there?) with the same delicious 'Q we are accustomed to, and will remain open.
