South Carolina residents could expect to see a larger tax cut than originally planned thanks to a ~$14.5 million spending plan approved last week. The income tax rate will go from 6.3% to 6.2% with the goal of eventually bringing it down to an even 6%.

Local musician Stephen Oliver, along with his brother Andrew Oliver (also known as Brother Oliver), set out to break the Guinness World Record for longest mandolin playing session. Not only did Stephen Oliver break the record, but they made a documentary to prove it. “How to Break a World Record” is available for streaming today, June 25 on Apple TV + Amazon Prime.

Pro tip: Every month, the City of Greenville, South Carolina Government hosts a Project Preview Meeting for Greenvillians to learn about upcoming developments going through the city’s approval process. This month’s open house is tomorrow, June 25 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Prisma Health Welcome Center at Unity Park (with a special presentation to follow from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.).
While the City of Greenville holds Project Planning Meetings every month, it seems the June agenda is chock-full of forthcoming major projects in Greenville.

Roughly 12 acres of land near the Haynie-Sirrine neighborhood are for sale. Becky Warth (co-vice president of the neighborhood association) said the hope is for any potential buyers to “consider the city’s affordable housing incentives.”

Welcome home, Panthers. The Carolina Panthers will return to Clemson’s Memorial Stadium for their annual fan event on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 6:30 p.m. The Panthers played their first season in Tiger Town in 1995 and will be celebrating their 30th NFL season this year.
Training camp presented by ticketmaster opens in Charlotte on July 24, including a return to Clemson for Fan Fest, presented by Daimler Truck North America.

Safe Harbor — a nonprofit dedicated to helping those who have experienced domestic violence — is getting a new, 45,000-sqft shelter facility at Gordon Street Mill.
Developed by the M Peters Group, the new space will triple Safe Harbor’s capacity + put all its services under one roof.
The 45,000 sqft facility is "one-of-a-kind" in SC and will triple Safe Harbor's capacity thanks to funds from TD Bank, The Innovate Fund, and the SC Community Loan Fund.
