Much of the damage from Hurricane Helene to state parks and Upstate trails has been repaired and most parks have reopened, but considerable work remains.

While opening parks and trails to visitors is a top priority, making sure those visitors are safe is the highest priority, according to Adin Fell, mountain regional chief for the South Carolina State Parks Service.

The YMCA Judson Community Center held its 22nd annual Souper Bowl on Feb. 5. Over 90 people attended the soup luncheon which featured a silent auction to raise money for the community center. Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, Greenville First Steps and the Greenville Downtown Airport (GMU) in South Carolina sponsored the event.
