The Salvation Army of Greenville County, SC’s shelter campus revitalization project received a $500,000 grant from the state.

The funding was announced during the organization’s Christmas in July Breakfast on July 24. State Rep. Chandra Dillard helped secure the grant funding in the 2024-25 state budget for the project.

⁠Greenville's 2023 Red Kettle volunteer winners were also announced.⁠

Fifth place: Parker Fire District rang three Fridays at the Hobby Lobby in Cherrydale to raise $2,305.40.⁠

Fourth place: Civitan Club has been ringing bells for over 25 years and man's the door at Old Time Pottery every Saturday raising $2,374.14. ⁠

Third place: Mrs. Powell's Class at Stone Academy covered both doors at the Walmart in Travelers Rest to raise $2,951.32 in one day.⁠

Second place: Simpsonville Rotary Club and the Simpsonville Kiwanis Club - a joint group that has been ringing bells for more than 25 years covered the Belk in Simpsonville every Thursday and Friday to raise $3,505.65. ⁠

First place: Greenville County Sheriff's Office covered three days at the Walmart on Pelham and raised $3,702.09.
