Write a note to them explaining why that ornament was chosen. 4. Gift this box to them when they’re older.I love knowing that one day these ornaments will fill their trees and that they’ll always have these handwritten notes from their mama 🥰@mommasociety shared this and I cannot help but tear up every year #christmastradition #christmastraditions #christmaswithkids #homefortheholidays #parentslove #anornamentayear #yearlytradition #younglearning

👉🏼 How to pick the perfect 𝐚𝐥𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭 👈🏼“Developing letter recognition is essential in early reading development.” (Piasta & Wagner, 2010). 1️⃣ 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞 - Letter recognition is dependent on knowing their shapes (does it have a circle, straight line, curved line, etc?). We want our children to see and learn the 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞. Knowing this can help distinguish a particular letter from others. This will also help children to understand how the letter is formed when beginning to write ✍🏼. 2️⃣ 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 - Visual similarities make it difficult to tell some letters apart (b, d, p, q, i, j) so it is important to also show a visual representation of that letter’s 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝. Developing knowledge of a letter and its corresponding sound is one of the first essential skills needed in literacy development.

ʟᴇᴠᴇʟᴇᴅ ᴠꜱ. ᴅᴇᴄᴏᴅᴀʙʟᴇ ʙᴏᴏᴋꜱ 🤷🏼♀️Decodable books are the best choice for emerging readers. With decodable books, the child is now able to practice skills they’ve learned while reading text. In my experience, these books help a beginning reader with confidence, fluency, and accuracy. Talk about feeling good about yourself learning to read! 👊🏼By no means am I saying ditch the leveled books. There is a time and a place for them for sure! They’re great for reading to your child, as the content, illustrations, and vocabulary are usually engaging.
