Having reached a ripe old age and health issues are cropping up, I have finally decided to "Sunset" the actual production of video media in favor of retirement and reading books.
Looking over the video clips I have posted here, I still feel a desire to keep the page if for no other reason than to reminisce from time to time.
The last of video "fillers" for GPAT. Greenville NC Public access Channel. All the "Talent" recorded on these videos are either local or were passing through this spring.
This is one of two videos that are 6 minutes in length to fill in spaces between programs.
Nope, no plot, no dialog. something to fill in the time between a show that ran short so that the next show can start near the top or bottom of the hour.
Digging through my archives, I found this piece of video footage of the interior of the vacant, city owned theater building. It is from 2011 and shows what was there and what has gone. With gratitude to Carl Rees who allowed me access to the building for the purpose of recording its (then) condition.

This is the last of the "Green" Jazz band's pieces. Not exactly traditional Christmas music but it does show off this band's abilities very well
There are two jazz bands at Rose. Green and Blue. This is the green band.
This was started as a family video since my son is in the Jazz Band. Not intended as a professional video.

This is an excerpt from a Benefit Concert for Friends of the Cottage. This historic building was destroyed by Hurricane Irene last summer. Billy and Sandra Stinson are planning to rebuild and wrote this song about the cottage that once stood over the waters of the sound in Nag's Head, NC.
Reception for WCPE's (89.7) translator in Greenville, NC (97.3) had deteriorated. This necessitated a trip to Greenville to troubleshoot and remedy the situation.
It turned into a pretty good photo opportunity.

Roost Christmas Videos starting Friday.
Beginning Friday, November 25th I will be sharing Christmas choral music by students from East Carolina University's School of Music. Directed by Dr. Daniel Bara and Dr, Jeffrey Ward, the students performed this concert at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Greenville, NC. a couple of years ago. Watching the DVD I made of it is quickly becoming a Christmas tradition at my house.
When music "gets to me" in its beauty, I break out in goosebumps. There were many goosebumps that night for me.
Four different groups perform. The Gentlemen of the Chorus, St. Cecilia Choir, The ECU Chamber Singers, and the ECU Women's Chorale.
I was fortunate enough to have videotaped this concert in 2009 and will provide a different Christmas piece excerpted from the full concert on my Storcks Roost Video page. With the exception of Christmas day when I will post the longer Women's Choral's "A Ceremony of Carols", each piece runs less than 8 minutes. There will be a new video excerpt from the concert added every other day until Christmas.
