We recognize the devastation and challenges that Hurricane Helene has presented us with. Our hearts are with everyone impacted by this storm. We are strong. We will recover, rebuild, and rise up. We are North Carolinians, and we are stronger together. As a committee representing the Tryon Downtown Development Association we have voted to continue with the 13th Annual Tryon Beer Fest as an opportunity to connect, support one another, and to be who we are-A COMMUNITY!

Our festival has been one of strength; we hosted a virtual drive through experience during COVID. Our festival has been one of resilience; we had our most exuberant and well attended crowd during a rainstorm! And our festivals are born of passion; each year our festival grows and reaches new crowds introducing them to the Tryon Beer Fest!

Although we will still have plenty of beers at our festival, due to the impact of , some of our Asheville beer vendors are challenged to represent themselves at our festival. Therefore, we'd like to announce that a portion of our proceeds will benefit the Asheville Brewers Alliance.

If you have signed up to volunteer for our festival, we need you to check in and let us know if you are still able to volunteer. Please call 828-817-5523 to confirm your abilty to volunteer. If you have not volunteered in the past, PLEASE CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING NOW! We need your help now more than ever. Some have called this more of a "Love Fest" than a Beer Fest, so please participate and show some !

🧡 I love the light-hearted, inclusive community! Everyone here is incredibly genuine, hardworking, and kind. It’s an amazing group of people to be around.

❓What’s your favorite Fireforge beer and why?
🍻 It’s a tough call between Day on the Lake and Perlin’s Ghost Pepper.
Day on the Lake is perfectly crisp and refreshing—it’s the ideal beer for kicking back.
Perlin’s Ghost Pepper brings that same crispness but adds just the right amount of heat. It’s the perfect balance. Chef’s kiss.

❓If you could have a beer with anyone (living or dead), who would it be?
🗣️ I’d choose the cast of the SmartLess podcast—Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes. It would be a hilarious conversation, full of sarcasm and witty banter, with a little insight into life along the way.

❓You have an unexpected free afternoon. How are you spending it?
🚵‍♀️ I’d ride up to Pisgah for a quick mountain bike loop, then stop by The Hub before heading back to the Upstate. 

❓Want to share a little about your professional background?
🩻 I started my career in worksite wellness, primarily working with manufacturing companies to improve employee health outcomes. Now, I’ve transitioned into healthcare, working as a project manager for an EMR startup in a non-clinical role.

The impact of Hurricane Helene will be felt throughout the region for a long time.

We know some of you and several of our neighboring breweries were significantly impacted. The upcoming Greenville Craft Beer Festival will donate 100% of net profits to recovery efforts for impacted breweries in the Carolinas.

Because of the storm, Fall for Greenville has been rescheduled for November 9th. We're glad they can move forward, but the event will greatly affect our volunteer and parking capacity. To support the best for the community, the Greenville Craft Beer Festival will be rescheduled.

We have yet to set a new date, but we are looking at weekends in March or April 2025. We'll let you know as soon as we have a firm date- please stay tuned and follow along with our social accounts for updates.

Until then, take care of yourself and those important to you. We'll see you all in the spring!

It has been a busy few weeks around my Rocky Broad Hwy9 neighborhood. Just got phone service and seeing all the recovery happening around county too. Thank you Brett with for setting up fundraiser and all the thoughtful contributions. Prayers for everyone pulling together during these times. Shout out to my neighbor Brandon who has showed up ready to help with shovel in hand repeatedly, and found out he brews for which I hear has been organizing supplies and volunteers (and brought me some canned cocktails) also thanks for having hot food for weary folks.

In the wake of Hurricane Helene, the City of Hendersonville is committed to ensuring that community events continue to serve as a source of support and solidarity.

The final Rhythm & Brews of the year event WILL take place on Thursday, October 17. We are actively working out the final details to ensure a successful event that not only celebrates music and community. Rhythm & Brews is produced by the Friends of Downtown Hendersonville, proceeds from the event will be directed to downtown business support.

Katie could use your help. Her home has suffered extreme damage and possessions have been ruined. These losses will likely not be covered by insurance. Funds raised will be used to help Katie and her family rebuild their home and buy much needed furnishings, clothing, and food.
