Comprehensive Plan workshop set for Monday

The City of Greenfield invites community members to participate in a Growth and Development Workshop 4-6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16 at Hotel Greenfield, 110 E Iowa Street. This drop-in style event offers a chance to share your thoughts and help guide the future growth and development of Greenfield and the surrounding area.

This workshop is a key component of public participation in the development of the Greenfield Comprehensive Plan for 2024-2045. A Comprehensive Plan is a long-term planning document that helps guide community growth and development and covers various aspects such as housing, economic development, transportation and other community needs. The plan will serve as a roadmap to help city officials, developers, employers and residents work together toward a shared vision for Greenfield's future.

Community input gathered during the workshop will help inform the plan, ensuring that future growth reflects the needs and priorities of the community. No formal presentation is scheduled, so participants are encouraged to stop by at any time.
For more information, please contact Greenfield City Hall at 844-580-0810 (option 1).

'Something to be proud of'

ACHS celebrates reopening

Adair County Health System (ACHS) celebrated the successful climb to a summit some may have thought was unreachable last week.

A celebration was held Wednesday, Dec. 4 to salute the work it has taken for the hospital to reach a Nov. 11 reestablishment of full services after the EF-4 tornado that hit Greenfield last May.

The hospital rolled out the red carpet for its highest leaders and its community. After a ribbon cutting conducted by Greenfield Chamber Main Street and the City of Greenfield, CEO Catherine Hillestad gave remarks to those gathered in an upstairs room of the hospital lined with windows.

The room was filled to capacity with people eager to celebrate this milestone with ACHS.

The Warren Cultural Center was the place to be Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7-8, between the "It's a Wonderful Life" play by the Cumberland Rose Players, the "Voices Raised" children's choir concert, the "chocolate walk," Tour of Trees and the hospital's Holiday Luncheon. Here are a few shots from the weekend.
