Meet Jordan Skorlinski, one of our newest team members. We’re glad to be able to add another Audio Engineer to the NorthCoast Media Group crew!

Here’s a little about Jordan:

Jordan grew up in Neenah, Wisconsin. After high school, he spent 2 years at UW Fox Valley working towards a degree in business. He decided it wasn’t his calling and switched tracks, going on to attend the Madison Media Institute, getting his degree in Audio Recording & Technologies. After completing his degree in Madison, Jordan moved back to Neenah and began freelancing as an audio engineer for places like Gibson Music Hall, where became involved with Appleton’s Mile of Music in its very first year. Jordan continues to be involved with MOM and we’re glad to have him on as a full-time part of NorthCoast.

In his spare time, Jordan digs building computers and playing games on them, as well as being perpetually down for board games, tavern trivia, Magic: The Gathering, and D&D. Jordan can be found listening mostly to hard rock and nu metal – Starset is his favorite band (he’s seen them SIX TIMES). The man also plays bass and has “been in bands”. In a break from the standard NorthCoaster Movie Favorites (Star Wars, Goonies), Jordan’s preferred flick is Cannibal the Musical (note: this film is also enjoyed by the writer of this fine piece of copy and you should check it out – well, maybe). Favorite Food? He’ll happily destroy sushi and pretty much anything Italian. Jordan also nerds out on audio gear and is a self-described “fidgety, left-handed weirdo”.

Pets: 2 cats (Benji, Sunny), 2 dogs (Ginny, Sherlock)

After the better part of 26 years with Made Ya Look/NorthCoast Media Group and over 40 years as an incredible audio engineer, John Gibson is officially retiring from his 9 to 5 with us. We will miss the heck out of him.

John’s vision, dedication, and passion for pristine audio quality have been the cornerstone of Made Ya Look since he first joined the team in 1996. From working gigs at Lambeau Field and recording the voices of some of the Green Bay Packers’ greatest players to mixing videos for broadcast and working with bands in the MYL studio, John’s contributions and his drive for high-fidelity audio will resonate for years to come.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, John’s musical talents have added a unique rhythm to his journey, showing us all the beauty of balancing work and passion. You can now catch John Gibson playing jazz and funk with his upright or electric bass at venues across Wisconsin! He hasn't come out and said it, but we all know he's most looking forward to playing U-Bass with some local ukulele players, too (says Audio Engineer AJ Rahm, who's our in-house ukulele player).

John, we’ll miss your creativity, leadership, and the energy you brought to every gig, video shoot, and recording session. We’re thrilled for you to be able to enjoy more time playing bass and relaxing. Here’s to more music, adventures in the Mach E (with a frunk!), hangs with your furry friends, and well-deserved time to do what you love!

Let’s celebrate John and wish him all the best in retirement! 🥂🎶

White balance is when we adjust the camera's color temperature to make sure the whites in the shot appear as true white. This helps all other colors in the video look natural. Generally, a white card is used to calibrate the camera.

Used in a sentence: "We're going to need a white card to calibrate the white balance."

Register today for next Thursday's NFL DRAFT KEYNOTE presentation at Discover Green Bay, co-hosted by the American Marketing Association - Northeast Wisconsin Chapter and the AAF Fox River Ad Club. Hear from Discover Green Bay's Nick Meisner on what it took to bring the NFL Draft to Titletown. A great session for interested marketing and advertising professionals with a local focus.

Meet Jarod Johnson, our newest Production Assistant. We’re glad to be able to add another member of the team to assist our crews out on video shoots.

Here’s a little about Jarod:

Jarod was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and is joining us after serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy. Jarod is currently attending UWGB.

Now that Jarod is back home, he enjoys playing guitar, listening to a wide variety of music, and he also digs going to see live music. If you’re feeding Jarod, he would love to have Spaghetti Bolognese or most anything classically Italian. If Jarod's watching movies, he's probably taking in a Western, making him the only NorthCoaster in The History of Ever to choose it as a favorite genre. Jarod is a favorite of our office Shiba Inu, Shea, and the two can be seen side by side on days when Jarod isn’t out on a video shoot.
