Job Description:
NorthCoast Media Group is seeking a talented and motivated Audio Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects, including on-location audio recording for video shoots, audio engineering for live events, and studio recording and mixing for video and music projects. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for audio, proficiency in ProTools, understanding of signal flow, ability to service and repair audio-visual equipment, and assist with other related AV tasks. This position serves as the Assistant Audio Engineer, providing direct support to our Lead Audio Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Deploy and manage live audio setups and mixing for various events.
🔹 On-location audio recording for video productions.
🔹 Studio mixing of video and music projects.
🔹 Assist with installations, servicing, and repair of audio and AV equipment.
🔹 Collaborate with the lead engineer on various audio engineering tasks and projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
🔹 Proficiency in Pro Tools.
🔹 Experience with digital mixing consoles.
🔹 Field audio experience is a plus.
🔹 Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
🔹 Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
🔹 Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
🔹 Flexible schedule to accommodate client needs.
🔹 Ability to lift 50 pounds

New Hire Announcement: Ink Azzolina, Motion Graphics Designer

Here’s a little about Ink:

Ink has lived most of her life in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and comes to NorthCoast Media Group fresh out of college. Ink has her degree in Digital Motion Design from Ringling College of Art & Design in Sarasota, Florida. Let us tell you: you want creative, eye-catching motion graphics? Ink has got you covered. We were floored by her work – and she’s just getting started.

In her spare time, Ink hangs out with her dog, Lacy, and likes to go for bike rides. She’s also a fan of comics, especially Batman Black & White. Ink likes listening to a variety of music but, at the moment, she’s especially feeling Caravan Palace. Her favorite movie is The Adventures of Tintin (2011) and she loves peel-and-eat shrimp with butter (good choice).

Recent behind-the-scenes shots of our time working on a video project for Curative Connections' innovative new dementia care facility, Yesteryear Village. The facility contains spaces thoughtfully designed to trigger reminiscence, such as a diner, an auto shop, a salon, a post office, a town square, and a variety of other areas targeted at helping people engage, relax, and enjoy interactive experiences fashioned around activities enjoyed in their younger years, while in a safe environment.

One of the local organizations that's nearest and dearest to our hearts, Curative Connections exists to assist people of all ages and abilities achieve their goals for independence - and they've been around for 75 years! They provide a proactive approach to care for clients with brain injury, disability, and dementia and related conditions. Curative Connections IS love. ❤️

A foley artist creates sounds for video and other media, in the post-production phase, to enhance audio quality. They create sound effects that can't be properly recorded on set such as the breaking of glass, footsteps, and wind.

The term "jib" is a special crane-like structure that has a camera mounted to one end a counterweight on the other. This allows us to operate it like a see-saw and allows us to capture a variety of smooth movement shots, such as long sweeping overhead moves or even a complete 360-degree shot.

The term C-47 sounds important, right? In the film industry a "C-47" is a wooden clothespin, commonly used to clip diffusion material to hot lights. Supposedly, spending good money on clothespins was crazy to accounting types, thus the name change made by film crews in order to discourage questions from accounting.
