The great Bob Marley would have celebrated his 80th birthday today! He's inspired so many artists and countless documentaries have been made about his life. Even though he passed away at 36, his impact on music was seismic. I played "Redemption Song" at 7:30 for This Day in Music History!

Tricky released his debut solo album Maxinquaye in 1995. He had previously been part of Massive Attack. His debut album featured a remake of Massive Attack's song "Karmacoma," he named it "Overcome." Martina Topley-Bird performed the vocals on the track and it became a MASSIVE success in the trip-hop world! I played "Overcome" at 9 o'clock for The '90s Stash.
