Meet The Hosts Of Lancer Radio!

Dean is on air from- hey that’s me!!! Hi, I’m Dean. I’m the face behind Lancer Radio social media and Alternative Modulation. I’m on from 10 AM to 12 PM every Monday. I play mostly alternative but I don’t let that restrict what music plays on my show. I like to say my music taste boils down to if I like the song, then I like the song. Most of what I listen to is alternative but in my rotation you’ll find that I’m all over the place going from Bring Me The Horizon to Taylor Swift in one song. My favorite artist are half•alive and Glass Animals with twenty one pilots being my all time favorite (peep the sweater). Most of what’s posted here and on other socials are posted by yours truly.

I’m only in my second semester at CLC and I’m studying psychology. I’m not too sure what I’ll do with that but right now I think I may purse a doctorate and teach psych at a college level.

Min is on air from 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM every Tuesday with his show “It Is What It Is”. His show mostly focuses on speaking with international students and their thoughts on the US and CLC. Min lilies indie, pop, and hip hop. Some of his favorite artists are Gracie Abrams The 1975, and NIKI.

Min is in his second year and last semester at CLC and is studying political science and government to go into a government job.

Meet The Hosts Of Lancer Radio!

Mr Jay Wiltshire and Dr Brent Stevens are on air from 10 AM to 11 AM every third Friday of the month with their show “The Ball Is In Your Court”. Their show focuses on student service, college success, and the psychology of learning. Mr J and Dr S describe their music taste as “eclectic”. They like mostly everything punk to pop to classic to video game music. Some of their favorite artists include Bob Marley, Nina Simone, and Sam & Dave. The would like to say “we are interested in everything Professor Cullen is interested in”.

Dr S and Mr J have known each other for about a year. Dr S has been teaching psychology for just over a year at CLC while Mr J has been teaching the CLC 120 course and has been at CLC for about 5 years.

Meet The Hosts Of Lancer Radio!

Our very own founder, radio director, and faculty coordinator Mick and his two friends Kevin and Carl are on air from 8 PM to 11 PM Thursdays with their show “Subterranean”. Mick describes the show as focusing on “underground and indie rock, promising to play at least 10 artists on each show that we have never played before.” Their favorite genres are indie, underground, and alternative. Some of their favorite artists include They Might Be Giants, The Rural Alberta Advantage, and A Giant Dog.

Mick is the radio director and teaches social work. He also calls himself the “professor of s*x, drugs, and rock and roll”. Carl has been a part of the show since its inception in 2009 and Kevin has been a part of the crew for about a year.

Alex is on air from 4 PM to 5 PM Fridays hosting her show “Your Turn, Your Time”. Her show focuses on “giving anyone at CLC the change to talk about themselves and getting to know them in an environment they’re comfortable in”. Alex includes games and ice breakers with guests to get to know them more. Alex would describe her music taste as “Anything from the 60s to now, EDM, pop, and rock”. Nina is on air from 11:30 AM until 1 PM on Wednesdays. Nina would describe her music taste as “all over the place” some specific genres she likes are indie, rock, alternative, a little bit of punk, and some oldies. Some of her favorite artists are The Breeders, Rage Against The Machine, and Chicano Batman.

She is studying fine arts and is in her third year at CLC.
