GRTV, in partnership with local nonprofit Artists Creating Together, recently concluded a special series of classes that taught 15 students between the ages of 18-25 how to create their own stop motion video from start to finish.
ACT, which empowers individuals with disabilities to learn, grow and celebrate through the arts, reached out to GRTV to facilitate this project. Working from ACT’s headquarters in Grand Rapids, the students learned about stop motion animation techniques and produced their own video.

Throwback Thursday! With the 25th Jammies right around the corner, GRTV rediscovered footage from one of the earlier performances. This comes from the 3rd annual Jammies, held in 2002 at the UICA, back when it was on Sheldon! The Jammies look a bit different now, but the message remains the same, to uplift and celebrate local music!
This was able to be archived with GRTV's brand new archiving suite, which is open for public use. This features a performance from Ken Bierschbach, but there are seven other performances available to watch on GRTV's YouTube channel at GRTVaccess.

GRTV is now offering a new service that allows community members and organizations to digitize their outdated home media through the launch of its Media Preservation Suite.
The Media Preservation Suite is geared toward community members and organizations interested in transferring their outmoded media – such as VHS tapes, cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs and 8-millimeter film – into digital formats.
You can read more about this new service on our website at https://grcmc.org/news!

Throwback Thursday!
It's crazy to see just how far we've come since November 23rd, 2004! Back then we were holding a capital campaign to revitalize Wealthy Theatre. Since then, just alone this year, we have held over 600 different events at the theatre!
This just comes to show that your donations make a lasting impact here at The Grand Rapids Community Media Center. As the year comes to an end consider making a year-end contribution to the GRCMC today! These donations could also be used as tax deductions.
We're currently working towards archiving important documents and videos, just like this one, but that takes space to store, and we are in desperate need of addition archiving space. Your year-end contribution will help us get the storage we desperately need! You can make a secure donation now online at grcmc.org/donate. Thank you for your continued support of The Grand Rapids Community Media Center!
