Time to go behind the music on "5678", my collab with Ausy on my debut album "Reclamation." Ausy is a beatbox and loopstation extrordinaire and I'm so honored to do a track together!
I first met Austin Beek this past fall at a house party that we were both performing at. I heard him beatbox dubstep and do some live looping and was completely blown away from his talent. I knew I just had to do a track that blended my bass music style and his completely unique vocal talents.
We linked up a few times to record and I took hundreds of samples of his voice, chopped them up, and used them in the arrangement of the track. About 90% of the track is his voice, even the kicks, snares, hats, and fills. I even layered my synth basses with his voice to make sure everything had an Ausy filter on it,
The result is a dynamic dnb track that you literally can't hear anywhere else! If you ever see us at a show together, there's a good chance you'll hear him do the track live!
Make sure to go show Ausy some love, he just finished top 4 (and should've been top two imo) at the Electric Forest Beatbox competetion and is a supremely talented musician who is forging his own path in the music industry. And he's still a teenager!!!!

In the midst of all this craziness, yes I did release an album this month!
Today I'm going behind the music on track 4, "Escape Hatch".
Escape Hatch was actually originally written all the way back in 2021, during my outer space era (hence the name) and has taken various forms and shapes over the years. Once I started playing sax over the track, I ditched the synths altogether and made it into an instrumental feature. It's high energy, dancey, trappy, and has that Middle-Eastern flair to it, and is also the first glimpse of acoustic instruments on the album.
Every time I play it at a show, the dance floor goes nuts, so I remastered it for the album and wrote a fresh sax part to boot.

Throwback to being gifted an extra half hour by Shlump at ELEKTRICITY during my b2b with Bosstatus and digging deep into the vault. Anyone remember this track??
The Game is the first collab on my album, "Reclamation." I teamed up with Ben Nowacki , aka BUTTONZ, a prolific producer in his own right, and sent him the initial idea for the sketch. The sketch was pretty bare bones, but had that dubstep flavor, and we made it our goal to make it a solid combo of heavy and a little quirky. Buttonz added some wild sound design and I fleshed out the overall energy of the track. It naturally started sounding like a video game, so we doubled down and decorated the track with 8-bit "gaming" sounds.
I imagine this track as taking place in a massive arena in the city center, for whatever sports or games are played in TechTonia (I do want to make a TechTonia video game, but I don't have 500K to invest unfortunately). You can check out the track in the comments, enjoy!

I go behind the music a bit for my track, "Get the Place Shaking." It's a heavier side to my sound and I've been searching for a home for the track, and the dudes Will Glazier and Ben Nowacki have put in some serious work to make this a reality!

My newest track, Balance, is out now everywhere!
I love merging the gritty, heavy basses with ethereal melodies and atmosphere, it is pretty much what my soul sounds like so just gonna put it all out there.
This track is kind of an overall picture of the direction my sound has been going the past few months, I've allowed myself to let my writing take its natural course and not try and force a genre or sound, and I really really love the results.
