This last Saturday evening I drove a hour north from where I spent the Friday night in Wisconsin, I spent the night in the back of my truck, it got down below Zero degrees! It was cold!

But I got out from the back of my truck the next morning and I spent a hour walking about a mile out on lake Gogebic to try to catch my First ever Teeter perch!
After I ran my 3 jawjackers out I waited about 30 minutes and one of my jaw jackers went off,
I landed my PB Teeter Jumbo perch, I took a couple photos and about 45 seconds after I pulled the perch out of the hole, I tried to release it.

But unfortunately either it’s fin we’re frozen up a tad or i reeled him up to quickly, either way it couldn’t swim off correctly so I kept him. As soon as I kept him I pulled up all my lines and walked a hour back to the truck!

Note to self, I should have had a Shanty out there and a heater where it’s fins would not have freezed up during that 45 seconds it was out of the hole while I was trying to take a photo.

Also by the way it was 4 degrees out there with 22mph winds, negative 14 degree windshield temperature, it was brutal but I was glad to catch a fish I was dreaming about catching!
And keeping one 14inch jumbo perch won’t really hurt the population to badly I believe.

Recap of the 2024 Ultimate Fishing Show!

Just looking back over the 4 days this last weekend! What a truly awesome fishing show!

I met so many People that Inspire me to keep on filming, fishing and doing what I love in life!

I also met a ton of fans of my Outdoor Show on YouTube and so many people I have not seen in awhile,it was so awesome!
It is so humbling and encouraging to see people from all walks of life to tell me that my videos inspired them to get out fishing or do something in the outdoors!
I also had a bunch of kids walk up to me that watch my show, it was really cool!

So I want to Thank everyone that has supported me on my show! From just watching the show, to Liking the video, to commenting on my social media platforms!

I met so many fans of my Outdoor Youtube channel over the last couple days!
It is so humbling to see people walk up to me and go “Johnny Trucking Outdoors” or have the guys repeating one of my YouTube video titles while walking up to me!
It has been so crazy to see the impact of my videos! I want to thank every single one of you guys that has came up to me to talk!
I really appreciate all the Support!

It shows me that I am actually making a difference and kids and people from all over the state are getting inspired to get out fishing from watching my YouTube videos!
Very humbling experience!

I love this Lake Effect Lure Co. / RBM Jigs LLC Ice fishing rod! It feel’s awesome in your hand!
Ended out yesterday evening with just 1 walleye (probably 12”-14”) that I released due to being under sized, still put up a really good fight!

I did lose a big fish on a big shiner with a treble hook unfortunately. Hooked that one around 7:45pm last night!

Ice fishing is so addictive! Hahaha I am lovin it! 🎣🥶

I Just Stopped by Jays Sporting Goods in Ga***rd and picked up a Ice Fishing Rod called the Pannie Popper 27” UL! This is the first time I have ever bought any of their ice fishing gear!
So hopefully it works well!
I picked up some of their plastics and jigs to try as well!
Looking forward to trying this gear!
We just got 4 inches of ice up here, so I will be out ice fishing later this week!

I would love to meet anyone who can make it, I will be a vendor there for John Bergsma and will be stocking shelves every couple hours throughout the day and the rest of the time I will be walking around and meeting new people!
