I don't know if people really understand how bad the Ga***rd solar panel decision was. Ga***rd has the highest snow totals in the lower peninsula. Maintaining a solar panel power station there would be more expensive than anywhere else in the state, it is unequivocally the worst spot you could put one. And yet, despite other companies refusing to build there because of this reality, the state INSISTED that the panels be put in Ga***rd. Who owns the private land that was going to be used for the development? Do they plan on using this to buy the state land after it's been clear-cut and destroyed by an unprofitable and mostly useless solar panel array? What tax benefits or grants are making this effort worthwhile? Is it just so the local energy company can sell off clean energy to other parts of the state so they can use the credits, knowing the region can't use the power?
