Ben Garcia …Live in the KAFM Radio Room!

When Ben Garcia strums his first chord, people listen. Raised in Boulder, Colorado, he began his music journey with high school rock shows before life took him on a two-decade detour in the bird dog hunting and field trialing world. Traveling coast to coast, his experiences shaped the heartfelt storytelling that defines his Americana songs.

Now in his mid-40s, Ben has returned to music with the dedication of a seasoned artist. His confessional lyrics, inspired by life on the road, resonate with audiences, while his dynamic solo performances and collaborations with fellow Americana musicians showcase his versatility. With his single “Road Song” gaining traction on Spotify and offers to perform nationwide, Ben Garcia’s star is rising once again.

You can join the statewide movement and make a big impact in your community. This year, Colorado Gives Day is on December 10, and it’s easily the best day to give!

Early Giving Starts Today
From November 1 through December 10, every donation you make will be boosted with a $1M+ Incentive Fund, made possible by Colorado Gives Foundation and FirstBank. Each nonprofit will receive a share of the fund based on their percentage of the total raised. Plus, if you set up a new monthly donation, Colorado Gives Foundation will match your first monthly donation up to $100 and up to $250,000 in total across all organizations! This is a fantastic opportunity to double your impact and support our efforts to increase our influence giving a voice to local non-profits, local Artists and Musicians, and local businesses to come together and grow our community.

About Us

Mission Statement

KAFM is a member-supported, volunteer-oriented community radio station dedicated to excellence and diversity in musical, cultural and public service programming. KAFM fills a vital role in the Grand Valley of Western Colorado as an accessible forum for the presentation of music, arts, culture and information by and for the local community.

Our Solar Initiative

During the week of April 6, 2008, the switch was thrown -- and, as fast as an electron, KAFM's dream to become the first partially solar-powered radio station in the Grand Valley became a reality. If you've driven by the station at 1310 Ute Avenue, you've seen the 20 180-watt panels now lining the top perimeter of the building. These panels reduce KAFM's power bills by up to 30%, and represent the station's commitment to steward its resources in an intelligent, sustainable and responsible way.
