Finally got around to developing some film from this past summer’s trip to Point Pleasant and Braxton County West Virginia. The abandoned building with ”kill” painted on the side is one of the most unnerving places I’ve been for some reason.

Happy Labor Day for the USA folks. Not at all related, except that it’s how I’m putting off yard work, but be aware that ufomag.com has recently listed another half dozen or so issues of the magazine from 1988 and 1989. It’s an amazing resource at a reasonable price. It also guarantees that I’ll be doing Zine Scene episodes until well past retirement age!

The Saucer Life is a podcast which explores the history and lore of flying saucers (or UFOs, if you like) through the lens of individual stories of encounters, sightings, concepts or events. “Stories” is the key word: we’re not interested in either proving or debunking anything. Rather, we’re treating flying saucers as folklore.

Aaron Gulyas is a historian and writer from Flint, Michigan, whose books include Extraterrestrials and the American Zeitgeist, The Paranormal and the Paranoid: Conspiratorial Science Fiction Television, and Conspiracy Theories.
