Ascension Public Schools and Offices Remain Closed Friday, Jan. 24th

Due to ongoing infrastructure concerns, including water and road safety, all Ascension Public Schools and offices will remain closed on Friday, January 24, 2025. While we all value the high-quality education provided in Ascension Parish, this decision prioritizes the safety of our school community. Please remember that when schools are closed, all athletic competitions and extracurricular activities are also canceled.

We are grateful for our employees who assessed our campuses today and are happy to report no significant issues have been found so far in our academic buildings. We will continue to assess athletic facilities tomorrow and over the weekend. A special thank you goes out to the Ascension Office of Emergency Preparedness and all local officials for their consultation and partnership during these unusual circumstances.

Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025.

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office has been investigating a video clip of a car speeding through a Prairieville area neighborhood. The video was taken on Swamp Road and posted to social media.
