MeToons started in July, but not for us! WNYA RF 7 virtual Channel 51.4 was slated, but is not happening. Sorry Albany! Contact Hubbard Broadcasting to complain!

If you're having problems with WNYT, you may need to rescan. WNYT turned on their new UHF 21 signal from Albany today. Their original signal on VHF 12 is at half power and will be shutting off on June 26th. This does not affect you if you're using their other signals on UHF 27 or 28. More HD channels!

Starting now, WVBG 25.1 is airing NewsNet in high definition, and 25.2 Sports News Highlights in HD. They've also added a shopping channel, 25.3 ShopHQ in HD. 25.4 is what was on 25.1, WBPI / Watchmen TV.

NewsNet has been available on WYBN 14.8 and will be great to now have in High Definition! Antenna: free TV for all your news!

Our Albany TV market lost two channels recently: This TV (14.3) and The Grio (51.2). This TV was replaced with France 24 (duplicate of 4.1 which is HD and 14.3 is not). The Grio with Catchy Comedy which is already on 51.3. Likely, Movies!, Story TV, or Me Too will be replacing one of the duplicates on 51. Great additions, any of them!

It's a step in the right direction but I think too little too late. What needs to be abolished is the broadcast surcharge. But that's a bigger can of worms that needs to be ridden as well.

The Federal Communications Commission introduced a rule proposal to eliminate early termination fees, increase competition among cable and satellite providers.

WRGB Channel 6 (6.1 6.2 6.3 45.2 45.4) has to lower their Albany (RF 35) power while WNYT performs upgrades to move from RF 12 to RF 21 this spring. You may notice issues with WNYT and WRGB during this work. Glens Falls and vicinity, you can get both those signals from West Mountain (or if you're already utilizing those) you should not notice anything.

WRGB Engineering Dept notice: "WNYT is removing their VHF antenna and installing UHF antenna for move to Ch 21. When the tower crew is in the vicinity of our Ch 35 antenna we have been operating on our aux transmitter from the former analog site."

Another challenging setup to pull in Albany stations! Fort Anne NY, her home in a bowl of hills and mountains! Separate high power VHF (top) pointed direct and standard UHF (bottom) reflecting off a mountain, combined and into a televes pre-amp, Gale now gets all the Albany stations (except for Ion, only sometimes 😏).

A total of 29 to 38 channels.

Later this month, Sinclair will replace its Stadium sports network with "The Nest," a new channel dedicated to "comfort food" TV.

Super tropospheric ducting this morning from the south, eviscerating the Albany low-power stations. What I got in this morning was Connecticut and New York City, RF 18, 29, 30 blasting through! On radio I listened to 92.5 93.7 and 96.5 from Hartford, CT 😊

Albany market low power stations statuses:

WZPJ channels 4.1-4.4 only receivable by 10% of tuners out there due to configuration issues.

WYBN channels 14.1-14.8 has been solid! Yay :-)

WVBG channels 25.1-25.4 working

WNCE channel 31.1 working

WNGN channels 38.1-38.4 configuration error on 38.1 and 38.2, black screens. Only 38.4 is working.

How is WFNY doing? 16.1-16.9 Gloversville (I can't receive this one, hope they're ok!)

We love that there are those who put their heart and soul into giving us TV the big boys won't, but unfortunately their equipment isn't as reliable, and technicians and engineers are scattered and not always there to fix or reset something. This summer has definitely been interesting with TV signals. I don't know what it is about the weather this week, but I'm having trouble getting lots of stations that normally come in fine. Vermont stuff is spotty, and Albany has been unusually sporadic in some cases as well. It's all the nature of the beast though!

DirecTV customers in our area no longer have WTEN 10 or WXXA 23. Do not be fooled, this is NOT DirecTV's fault. The stations are being greedy and demanding more $. However, with an antenna they are still FREE. Call me 518-223-9990 to Get An Antenna and break free from their chokehold! 52+ channels with ZERO subscription!
