Forward Leaning Inversion (watch for a video reel of this tonight, showing exactly how to do it!
🤰🏼Hi mama, I’m Trish, also known as .nurse.mama. Do you want to have a Calm Labor and Confident Birth? Then be sure to click the link in bio to check out my on demand childbirth class. Because you deserve a birth story that you control. ❤️
This technique was "invented" by Dr. Carol Phillips. But the info in my post is from one of my pregnancy go to websites. and all-around valuable resource.
The forward-leaning inversion technique:
It stretches out the lower uterine ligaments that get all tense and twisted throughout the day. When things are out of whack, the baby may not descend into an optimal position for birth. No Bueno!
This lovely technique can help relax and stretch those ligaments and allow the babe to turn head down and be ready to go.
My midwife recommended this to me because I tended to have late pregnancy breech issues but also because I had terrible back pain. I may or may not have done this at 2 am to relieve my pain.
Ok, so you know to do this for 30 seconds. you will get used to the head rush eventually. Lol
Also, do it with someone, because you can get stuck or worse...injured.
Go slow to get into the position.
Go slow and with help to get out.
DONT DO IF:
You have hypertension!!!!
You have a respiratory infection, cause a sister can't breathe.
According to Spinning, babies also don't do if you have the following: "heartburn, glaucoma, hypertension, or are at risk of a stroke. Also, in cases where amniotic fluid levels are unusually large, and the doctors are worried and measuring weekly-Spinning Babies."
