❤️I’m feeling incredibly blessed to create these books for our kids. Huge thanks to everyone who keeps the Armenian language alive in their hearts and homes. We’re facing tough times, but our ancestors’ strength inspires us to persevere and thrive against all odds and amongst savages.

🤓✨ FUN FACT:

Before the creation of the Armenian alphabet and the adoption of Christianity, Armenians used cuneiform scripts. The church deemed the script unsuitable for religious works. 🚫📜

If only we were flies on the walls of ancient temples and could see the throwdown between those for using cuneiform and those opposed. 😂🏛️

🎨 Behind the Scenes: Crafting "Բադիկ, Բադիկ"

We had a blast creating this book, turning a classic rhyme (Ծիտիկ, ծիտիկ մոտ արի՛ քեզ տամ հատիկ ու գարի ․․․) into an adventure with ducks and barnyard pals. Nairi, our main character, adds an extra sprinkle of joy.

FUN FACT: The Armenian language has been an obsession for me for close to 20 years. More than learning I love sharing about the beautiful ancient language. Let's dive into some fun facts about the Armenian alphabet.

❤️Instead of the usual two categories of "voiced" and "voiceless" consonants, Armenian goes a step further and adds a "soft voiceless" category (think of that soft 'T' in 'stop').

❤️Even though Western Armenian has bid farewell to that third category, and many folks have a tough time with those "soft voiceless" consonants, Eastern Armenian has kept the distinctions for letters like (Բ,Պ,Փ), (Գ,Կ,Ք), and (Դ,Տ,Թ). How cool is that? 🤓🔠

Mastering the Armenian Alphabet 🧒📖
Try these tips for beginners:
✅ Start with the Basics: Armenian has unique characters you need to recognize and learn the sounds of.
✅ Learn the Script: Practice writing each letter in both print and cursive.
✅ Practice Phonetics: Learn to recognize each letter with the correct pronunciation.
✅ Vocabulary Building: Learn the most common words used in Armenian.
✅ Language Exchange: Find someone to practice your Armenian with.
