To kick-off Day 1 at #PAXWest2023 in Seattle, we’re sharing another one of our favorite activations: “Geeked Week 2022.” For Day 5 of this event, hosts Mari Takahashi and Geoff Keighley covered all things Netflix gaming, including new Netflix shows inspired by popular gaming properties, as well as the premiere of the platform’s exclusive original games. This exciting event was streamed from our in-person studio, where we used virtual production to place our hosts in the immersive worlds of the games they commentated on! We’re flying north this week to attend #PAXWest2023 in Seattle! In anticipation of this gamer-centric event, we’re sharing our most beloved gaming activations, including our "Battle of the Khakis". This event was a one-day 3v3 NBA2K tournament featuring top Twitch streamers, and Jake from State Farm himself, battling for the coveted Golden Khakis trophy! Our production was held at our in-person studio, where we brought in remote guests from all over the country to play. She tells us all about it in this mash-up of mostly true things from her life, a meditation on fame, power, and the need to break free.
This film, written by acclaimed author and playwright Deanne Stillman, directed by Lillian Diaz-Przybyl, starring Shayne Eastin, and produced by Butcher Bird Studios, has won several awards, including an Indie X Fest Award for Best Achievement in Experimental Shorts, a Best Actress Award from the Indie Short Fest, and an Honorable Mention for Best Production Design from the Indie Short Fest.
