Hey y’all! Let’s help Jordyn reach her goals and beyond! Take part and help her out!
Welcome to Jordyn’s Summer Shirt Project. We are updating the pinned post to our page. Here are some answers to common questions we get asked. If you have a shirt and love it, please comment on this post so others can see as they read our pinned post for months to come! 😊
1. What is Jordyn’s Summer Shirt Project? Jordyn is 18 and has autism. Like many parents of special needs kids, we started worrying about what she will do once she ages out of school. We realized there aren’t a lot of opportunities available for adults with special needs so we created one. We asked our family and friends to purchase a Be Kind to Everyone shirt so she could learn to roll each shirt, add a wristband and sign a thank you card to include in the package. We were hoping to sell 40 shirts. When we made our first post to ask family and friends they not only bought a shirt, they shared it. The project quickly took off and Jordyn became busy learning to roll shirts! The response we’ve had is incredible and we LOVE our shirt project. We often post videos and photos to show all of you the progress she is making through the shirt project.
2. Why is it still called “Summer” when it’s no longer summer? I think we will always keep the word summer in the name because it takes us back to the magical moment of when it all started. Every time someone asks why it’s called “Summer Shirt Project” we get to explain how it started, how quickly it expanded and where we’re at now.
3. How can we order? You can order via our website www.bekindtoeveryone.com We accept most major credit cards and PayPal. Our shipping is always free.
4. How does sizing run on your shirts? All our shirts are unisex style. That being said, in our opinion the long sleeve run a little smaller than the short sleeve and the hoodies. You can find specific sizing for each shirt style on our website.
5. Does Jordyn work on each order? Yes, she does some job related task for everything we sell. Shirts – She rolls each one and adds a wristband. Tumblers – she stamps an inspirational card and places it inside the tumbler. She then repackages the tumbler and adds a Be Kind to Everyone decal inside the box. Necklaces – she packages each one. She also stamps a thank you card with her signature to include in every order.
6. When does Jordyn work on them? Jordyn leaves school every day at 11:30 and works in the shirt shop every afternoon. Our entire family works on shirts….even Hudson, Jordyn’s little brother enjoys it.
7. What is the largest size your shirts come in? Our short sleeves go up to size 4XL in several designs and our long sleeves go up to 3X or 4X depending on the design.
9. Once you order and receive your shirt we would LOVE for you to post a photo to our page. Include your state (or if it’s a vacation photo, the location of the vacation) and the hashtag when you post.
