About Notorious RED
Notorious RED is a base for selling NOTORIOUS, a sports gear deodorant spray developed by Sandra “Tara Armov” Frame and Stephen “Busta Armov” Greenberg and popularized as a direct sales product to Frame’s roller derby teammates and friends in the Los Angeles area. NOTORIOUS History
Anyone who has ever played a sport that utilizes protective gear knows that there is a special, lingering smell that hovers over not only every area of your body your gear protects, but every space it occupies post-game. While you might think it’s tough to think of that stench as a badge of how hard you’re working on the track, rink or playing field, ask your teammates – there are limits. Initially developed as a daily post-jogging foot spray by Frame, she soon realized that there was no reason this spray’s odor-eliminating powers couldn’t be harnessed to keep her roller derby gear stench in check as well. When they noticed a distinct absence of odor surrounding Frame post-practice, teammates began requesting bottles of their own. Dubbed ‘NOTORIOUS’ by friends in honor of Frame’s reputation for fouling out of most derby bouts, the popularity of the spray gained ground until Frame and Greenberg eventually decided to manufacture it for a wider audience. It is their hopes that, with the help of NOTORIOUS, action sports gear will no longer be associated with that special ammonia-flavored Frito smell, and can be appreciated solely for the bone-saving magic for which it was intended. The people behind NOTORIOUS
Sandra Frame, known widely by the roller derby community as Tara Armov, has been actively involved in modern derby since January 2004, when she was soon after named the first team captain of the LA Derby Dolls’ Fight Crew. After leading Fight Crew to the LA Derby Dolls first ever championship title, she remained an active skater until 2012, contributing heavily to the league’s all-star teams, the Ri-ettes and the Aftershockers in addition to popular flat-track “super teams,” the Rejects, the French Foxes and Team Cruz. Today, you can still hear the notorious tones of Frame’s voice on the microphone announcing on house microphones across Southern California as well as online for Derby News Network and popular podcast Derby Deeds. Stephen "Busta Armov" Greenberg's sports reportage has been featured regularly on Derby News Network and Banked Track News. His love for the sport of roller derby had its origin in the years he spent as an Enforcer with the LA Derby Dolls and his tireless support of the growth of roller derby from a local curiosity to an international movement.
