The San Gabriel needs our help.
Below is a message from SGFF President, James Reese :
"An allegedly illegal dam was constructed on the South Fork of the San Gabriel River recently. This dam was constructed by moving river rocks from the river bed to form this earthen dam. The pool has risen over riparian areas and flooded islands. The pool is impacting over 1/4 mile of river.
As many of you know additional issues with the Liberty Hill Sewage Treatment plant has increased the nutrient load causing significant algae blooms.
As president of the San Gabriel Fly Fishers and a steward of our natural resources, I am tired of seeing our public waters bent to the will of private land owners.
I urge you to share this video and tag any important conservation groups I may have missed. I have reached out to the following agencies and organizations...as they have some regulatory authority over this."

Texas General Land Office
The Attorney General Of Texas Ken Paxton

Bass from today on the gabe
Great video from @texasparkswildlife
These largemouth bass eggs will soon hatch at the @texasfreshwaterfisheriescenter in #etx. The fingerlings will be released into Texas lakes.
These eggs were spawned from ShareLunkers, bass weighing 13+ lbs. to grow #BiggerBetterBass.
Watch for more videos as they grow!

Love seeing them swim away. Had a good time on the gabe today. Not many fish to hand but still good to get out. #flyfishtherepublic #flyfishtexas #sangabrielflyfishers @livingwatersflyfishing
#Repost @texasparkswildlife super cool to see. Hopefully those broodstock guads will help make the gabe super fishy. I can't wait!
Fisheries biologists use backpack electrofishing to sample in remote streams and rivers not easily accessed by boat. Today we employed this method to collect Guadalupe bass broodstock that will be used to restore the population in the San Gabriel River.
