There are many organizations out there dedicated to helping families of unresolved homicides, and Project: Cold Case is one of the best. Their work is invaluable for families searching for support, advocacy, and justice.

Project: Cold Case was founded to ensure that victims of unsolved murders are never forgotten. They share cold cases from across the country, highlight victims’ stories, and help families navigate the challenges of seeking answers. Beyond raising awareness, they bridge the gap between survivors and law enforcement, working to build trust and push for progress.

If you’re an advocate working with a family in need—or a family member searching for help—Project: Cold Case is an incredible resource. I highly recommend following them to learn more about cases that need attention and the vital work they do.

To protect children from sexual predators, you can educate them about their bodies, set clear boundaries, and monitor their online activity.

1). Teach body safety.
Teach children the names of their body parts and that some parts are private.
2). Teach them that no one should touch their private parts, and that they should ask permission before touching others.
3). Teach them that they can say "no" to unwanted touches .
4). Teach them that they should not keep secrets that make them feel unsafe.
5). Set boundaries
Set clear rules about privacy, respect, and safety.
6). Talk about what to do if someone violates the rules.
7). Have a code word that children can use if they feel unsafe.
8). Monitor online activity
Check your children's social media and gaming profiles.
9). Ask about any people you don't recognize in their contact lists.
10). Make sure your children use privacy settings to restrict access to their profiles.
11). Encourage them to create strong passwords.

12)Report abuse
If your child tells you that they have been abused, stay calm, listen, and report it to law enforcement .
13). Notify the site where the abuse occurred
14). Trust your instincts
If you feel uneasy about leaving your child with someone, don't do it.

On March 25, 1975, the body of a young woman was found hanging from a tree near Road 129, .2 miles north of Newkirk, New Mexico. She had been bound to a Pinon tree by her wrists with a nylon type rope- an autopsy revealed that she had bruising around her head and face, with the cause of death being strangulation. The victim, believed to be in her twenties, was 5'4", 135 pounds, with strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, and wearing a jean jacket, a T-shirt with "Super Jobs in the Air Force ", men's style Levi jeans, and brown loafers- there was no identification with her, and she remains nameless. Robbery seems unlikely (although always possible), but typically a show of the body isn't the norm in these cases. She was fully clothed- but no undergarments listed...had she been sexually assaulted? It's not noted. Or did she simply p**s the wrong people off? No attempt was made to hide the body- quite the contrary, as her body seemed to be up for display. Please keep an open mind when comparing the photo to someone you have been missing - there's plenty of swelling and postmortem here. Guadalupe County Sheriff's Department (575)472-3711. More information in the comments. Written and researched by Jane Does and Missing 1970s-1980s .
