Today one of my former students was at a strip mall trying to sell his Air Jordin sneakers. As he approached, I asked did he know me and he said, "Yes, you are Mr. Williams." I told him it was not safe for him to sell the sneakers and that someone might harm him. He told me he needed $100 to play on the football team. I gave him my card and told him to have his mom call me. He said, "How about my dad?" Dad called 20 minutes later and shared his story. His wife is in jail and he is raising two children, 8 months old and 12 years old as a single parent. His son was trying to raise money that his father did not have to play football. I'm going to give his coach $50 on his behalf, I'd like to raise $200 for him to help during the season for travel and food expenses.
