Since moving to Franklin Square 11 years ago, Kathleen Mauceri has dedicated herself to uplifting local youth through teaching, volunteering with the PTA, and leading faith formation at Saint Catherine of Sienna Church. A proud mother of three, she believes in instilling the values of service and community in her children.

On Oct. 5, Giving Back to Community Corporation raised $16,000 at their gala, supporting hunger relief locally and in Nigeria. Attendees enjoyed a night of dinner, dancing, and inspiring speakers, celebrating the organization's vital work. Funds will support their upcoming Thanksgiving food drive on Nov. 23, aiming to help 100 families in need. 🍗❤️

Elmont’s historic Belmont Park is undergoing a $455 million transformation, modernizing facilities while honoring its rich history. The new venue will include 7,500 seats, upgraded tracks, and pedestrian access to the infield. The marching band, cheerleaders, and Homecoming court joined alumni to showcase school spirit, featuring the new raven mascot. Community members joined the parade, and the varsity football team triumphed over Lynbrook, 18-7, improving their record to 3-0. More than 30 people lived at 1888 Foster Meadow Lane, a cooperative for senior citizens in Elmont, when a flash flood forced them to evacuate on Sept. 29, 2023. Now, one year later, the residents remain displaced as the building’s condition continues to deteriorate.
