Laura Gillen declared victory over incumbent Congressman Anthony D’Esposito in a close race, while Republicans Steve Rhoads, David McDonough, and John Mikulin held their seats in the state legislature. Town of Hempstead Councilman Chris Schneider celebrated a full-term win, and Andrew Garbarino was re-elected for New York’s 2nd District.
