🚒🔥 Heroic Action at Wendy's Earns Civilian Commendation Award 🔥🚒

The Garden City Fire Department is proud to recognize Wendy's employee Jesus Garcia for his quick thinking and bravery during a recent cooking fire incident. On Sunday, GCFD was dispatched to Wendy's and upon their arrival, found that the fire had already been extinguished thanks to Jesus's prompt actions.

Yesterday evening, Fire Marshal Robertson and the on-duty crew from Station 2 had the honor of presenting Jesus with a Civilian Commendation Award and a challenge coin from Fire Chief Irsik. This award is given for meritorious actions that result in saving a life and/or reducing serious injury or property loss.

Jesus’s use of a fire extinguisher not only saved lives but also minimized further damage to the building. His exceptional civic responsibility and heroism serve as an inspiration to us all.
