VAMPS RESPOND TO FOUR-ALARM BLAZE
The North Lindenhurst Fire Department was called to a house fire with reported people trapped on 45th Street about 2:05 a.m., Sat., April 15. Police and fire officials gave this account: Two Suffolk County Police Officers in the area arrived on scene prior to the fire department and used a ladder in the rear yard to rescue two adults, three children and a dog from the second floor. The front door area was fully involved and the residents could not escape.
The fire spread into the attic and went through the roof of the two-story home. It took firefighters from North Lindenhurst, Lindenhurst, Copiague and West Babylon about 40 minutes to bring the fire under control with no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but Suffolk County Arson has determined that it is non criminal in nature.
