Happy March, Wavers!

First, I want to express my gratitude to our readers, contributors, advertisers, and everyone who has picked up a copy of Waves Magazine—even if just for a quick look at a schedule or recipe. We take pride in delivering information that you can't find anywhere else, all packaged in a beautifully formatted, fact-checked, detailed, and crisp product that caters to everyone. You are the heartbeat of Waves, and we sincerely thank you!

Now, let’s get ready for St. Patrick’s Day! One of my favorite childhood memories is watching my dad celebrate this festive occasion. Seeing him enjoy the day was a joy I will always cherish. He was the quintessential workaholic—if you looked up the term, you’d probably find his picture. He rarely took a day off, even though he owned the company and was free to do so.

However, St. Patrick’s Day was one exception he made, and he fully embraced it! He would proudly wear green clothes and sport a big, goofy green hat. With his grandparents hailing from Dublin and Galway, Ireland, this celebration held deep significance for him. He always took off work on March 17th and 18th, and as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realize that the 18th was his well-deserved recovery day—LOL!

Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time begins on March 9th! More sunshine means more opportunities to get out, enjoy life, and support our local businesses. They truly deserve our unwavering support, so let’s make it a point to buy locally! ---Mike Burke, Publisher

Happy February, Wavers!
There is no better place to be than right here in Galveston during the month of February. It’s time to celebrate Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras.
For everything Mardi Gras, Waves has you covered with an abundance of information. Check out our Mardi Gras schedules on pages 58 and 59 for parade routes, parking areas, live music, and entertainment. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Wavers - The Christmas Season has always been very special to me. It’s a wonderful time of the year to spread brotherhood, cheer, goodwill, and happiness. It’s time to rejoice. It’s also time to reflect and remember that some people are less fortunate than us. Let’s not forget about them this holiday season. We must contribute our time and resources to ensure that no one is forgotten and left out. Our Galveston is a very giving and caring community. Let’s do all that we can to ensure that everyone will enjoy this beautiful holiday season.
