Andrew Driscoll, Executive Director of The Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Galesburg, Illinois, and Dylana Larson, a board member for The Orpheum.

Andrew spoke to the Rotary Club of Galesburg on February 20, 2025, at their weekly meeting, held at 156 East Bar and Grill, about the exciting acts he’s bringing to the Orpheum this Spring, including Catapult, a live dance group, in March 15.

Dr. Subbia Jagannathan became a Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation on February 2, 2025. Subbia has donated over $10,000 to The Rotary Foundation . He received his award at a meeting of the Rotary Club of Galesburg from Mary Kay North, Rotary Foundation chairperson and Neal Miller, who is a past district governor and a Major Donor. Congratulations to Subbia for his award and his many contributions to Rotary.
The Rotary Foundation helps Rotary members to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by improving health, providing quality education, improving the environment, and alleviating poverty. Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.

The Rotary Foundation recently awarded new Paul Harris Fellow lapel pins to two members of the Rotary Club of Galesburg, Illinois.
Michael A. Robson (in plaid) received his Paul Harris Fellow Plus Six pin. His total contribution to the Rotary Foundation is $7000. He is the secretary for the Rotary Club of Galesburg.
Trent D. Cox received his Paul Harris Plus One pin. His total contribution to the Rotary Foundation is $2000. He is the treasurer for the Rotary Club of Galesburg.
Paul Percy Harris was a Chicago, Illinois - based attorney. He founded the club in Chicago that became the humanitarian organization Rotary International in 1905.

A belated thank you to John Schlaf for sharing with us about his time in the military for our Veterans Day program.

John served in the U.S. Airforce as a Radio Intercept Analyst, serving in Korea and other places as well.

John currently works with the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development, and has served as interim city manager for the City of Galesburg, former Galesburg Police Chief and former Director of Campus Safety.

Reading is Fundamental is back in Galesburg! The Rotary Club of Galesburg is pleased to share that a donation has been made of a book for each K-4 child at Silas Willard Elementary School, Steele School and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School.

The books were purchased from Wordsmith Bookshoppe and delivered to the schools shortly before the holiday break. We are glad to bring this program back to our community!

The Rotary Club of Galesburg is saddened to hear of the passing of longtime member Bob Lindstrom.

Bob joined our club in 1976, serving as President from 1990-1991 and received the Paul Harris Fellow Award and the Vern W. Dowers Exemplary Service Award.

We send our condolences to his family.
