It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our President and Co-Founder, David Nelson, on Monday, December 16th. David poured his heart and soul into D1. He was dedicated, driven, and honest. David has been in the Pet Food Industry for over 40 years. He was not only our leader he was our friend and a friend to many. David will be missed by all.

Please lift his wife Barbara, their son Anthony, and the entire Nelson family up in your prayers as they navigate this difficult time.

D1 Resources Vice President, Nathan Bingaman with United States Representative and Galena, KS native, Jake LaTurner on Capitol Hill. Nathan was recently in Washington, DC to attend the AFIA Board of Directors meeting.

Nathan is a board member for AFIA (American Feed Industry Association). He is also the Vice Chairman of AFIA Equipment Manufacturers Committee.

Administrative and Accounting Assistant
Duties & Responsibilities
• Assist in answering phones and greeting visitors.
• Providing administrative assistance, such as
writing and editing emails, drafting memos, and
preparing communications
• Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper
expenditure classification, resolve invoicing and
payment issues. Process involves weekly check
run.
• Credit card account reconciliations.
• Assist in material/equipment costing and
purchasing.
• Prepare detailed customers proposals for review.
• Schedule appointments and maintain calendars.
• Maintain electronic filing systems.
• Coordinate travel arrangements and create trip
itineraries.
• Assist with payroll processing.
• Maintain employee attendance point system.
• Updating internal spreadsheets
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
• Two years’ experience as an administration
assistant or an accounting related field.
• Must have strong organizational skills and ability
to multitask.
• Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with minimal
supervision.
• Ability to treat confidential information with
appropriate discretion.
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft office suite, with extensive
experience in Microsoft Excel

D1 Resources continues to grow and expand. We continue to add to our equipment that helps us do a better job both in our shop and on project sites working at our varied clients across the country. We have added a sheet metal roll forming piece of equipment, some heavy hauling equipment to our fleet. We are also in the process of adding this 100 ton crane to our fleet. Getting ready to go out on a project next week. (Marty Holcomb - one of our Certified Crane operators. Ted VanZandt and Jim Gearing setting up the heavy haul trailer)

Recent newspaper article about our Holton, KS office. Jason Kahle, a project engineer for D1 Resources, joined the company well over a year ago, establishing an office there in Holton. Thirty minutes North of Topeka and thirty minutes South of Sebetha, KS (Home to pet food equipment manufacturers, Extru-Tech and Wenger). He moved into the new offices in January of this year.
