When thinking of a name for my small business, Salt and Spoon felt like the perfect fit. I turned to art when traditional work became untenable due to my POTS symptoms.
With POTS, you’re told to push salt as part symptom management. Salt boosts blood volume and can help prevent blood pooling in the lower part of the body.
The spoon theory is a way to illustrate the energy limitations that come with chronic illness. Each spoon represents a unit of energy and how many spoons are used for each task throughout the day.

A few months ago I decided to dust off my iPad and start making digital portraits of my own pets, then a few for family members. Eventually, it turned into friends and family asking if I was taking commissions and I thought, why not!

I have enjoyed each portrait I’ve made so far and I’m so excited to make more!

I will be posting more info on how to purchase your own pet portrait in posts to follow!
