We had GLOAMING in recording for a really fun 3 day session. Very well done pop inspired punk with a bite that fans of 7SECONDS, ALL, MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK or RANCID would surely enjoy. Excellent players and really great guys. Make sure you catch them live next time they play out and keep an ear out for this new release!

Breakfast Club! The awesome members of CITY MOUSE/TILTWHEEL were in bright and early to have coffee with Gomez and run through their THIN LIZZY cover set that I’m personally, really excited to see. They’ll be rockin’ the University Club today 5:00pm - 5:30pm!

The mega cool, CANDY HEARTS in from NYC, rocked the live room with their super catchy pop punk hooks and sing-along-female fronted vocals. Fans of, LEMURIA, GREEN DAY, REINA MARIA and The BREEDERS take notice and go check them out for their FEST set at Heartwood Soundstage this Sunday at 5:20pm! Fun stuff!

The mighty AMERICAN STEEL from Oakland , CA was in the studio the last couple days crushing it with their blend of very well written , punk rock sounds. Really cool band that takes cues from THE SUPREMES, THE POGUES, and WILLIE NELSON. They throw it all together to make some really high energy music. They’re rockin’ VIVID MUSIC HALL tonight 10:00 -10:40. See you there!

RESTORATIONS from Philly were in this morning meeting Gomez, testing gear and running through a couple sets in preparation for their set tonight at BO DIDDLEY PLAZA at 6:30 pm. Influenced by the likes of, SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE, CONSTANTINES and TORCHE. Great band and really nice guys. Check ‘em out tonight!

Gainesville’s own, DEAD SEA LORDS were in recording songs for upcoming, brand new full length that will be released on Belladonna Records later this year! Long time veteran players of the local punk rock scene create dark, post-punk, rhythmic sounds that take inspiration from bands ala’, BAUHAUS, SCRATCH ACID, ICEAGE, THE CELIBATE RIFLES, late 80’s DISCHORD RECORDS stuff ect. You can see them this Friday night, September 27th at the CMC! 🦇 🔱

Ladies and Germs, please give a big rockin’ welcome to LWS’s first official UF studio intern, Theo Lorenzen! Many of you that rehearse and record with us will be getting to know him as he’ll be overseeing practice sessions and gaining experience with recording under Andre and Kevin. He’s a great guy, musician and good buddy of Gomez. Also, check out his current band, THE NANCY’S !

The snazzy rockers of LION’S MANE were back in from summer break to get back to work on dialing in their collection of cover songs and originals. They’re a great bunch of UF students that have such a good time jamming together and really make impressive strides musically at each rehearsal. They’ll be playing out this fall and we’ll keep you posted when they do!

Having Gainesville’s own, THE RENNY’S in the studio to record some of their new material and talk shop about some of the earliest Punk and New Wave shows here in town was a total blast. Drawing influence from top classics such as, GANG OF FOUR, BUZZCOCKS , DEVO and late era - THE CLASH, these songs sound great! They’ll be playing them live down at Sweetberries on September 28th. Show starts at 6pm. Go check’em out!

TONIGHT! LWS is really happy to be a part of this fantastic cause. The Tech Battle of the Bands is a long-standing Gainesville tradition where local tech companies put together bands to see who can raise the most money for GRACE. All proceeds from the event go directly to GRACE to get people directly off the street and into permanent housing, and it happens this Saturday night at the Wooly! Doors at 7pm!

SOUTHBOUND 441 came in to signal the end of summer break and it actually felt a little transitional somehow, (maybe not weather-wise) but definitely ROCK-wise as we head more towards the fall! These guys deliver the goods drawing inspiration from (classic-era) METALLICA and ANTHRAX up to more modern bands like TOOL and DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN. Now that they’re back in Gainesville, keep your eyes peeled for them recording more and also playing live, it’s a great show!

Gainesville’s very own, SMALL DISASTERS were in with us all weekend long, racing the impending storm and tracking an impressive amount of 12 amazing new songs. They’re such a fun band to not only listen too but to hang out with as well. Sincere, melodic punk rock that’d fit perfectly in the same vein as, STRIKE ANYWHERE, S***F, AVAIL or ALKALINE TRIO. Keep an eye out for their live shows and this release, you won’t regret either one! Also, guitarist / lead singer, Jon DeCarmine runs GRACE Marketplace, a fantastic charity to help end homelessness. They’ll be hosting the 8th annual, Battle of the Bands there AUG 24th. It’s a great time for a great cause!

The one and only, JON GAUNT was back in the booth to lay down his killer fiddle parts over some of local heroes, THE ENABLERS newest tracks. Jon currently plays in another great, local band, RANCHO LA CHUA and has toured or appeared on records with Gainesville mammoths, AGAINST ME! , CHUCK RAGAN , WHISKEY and CO. plus, many others. One of the best all the way around. Make sure to high - five him if you see him downtown! 🙌

What an amazing and fun time getting the chance to have TRUSTFALL in the studio! They were selected from MusicGNV’s Quarterly Recording Grant program and rightfully so. This band has really been making waves in the Indie circuit and it’s no wonder why when you get the chance to see and hear them. Angelic vocals, soaring guitars with a top shelf rhythm section influenced by bands such as, ARTIC MONKEYS, THE STROKES and ALVVAYS. They really bring their own originality and FUN to the table. Congratulations to them on what they’ve done and are doing in the upcoming months and please, check out their newest song, “YOUR LIFE”, just released yesterday and streaming all platforms. Also, catch them live, August 3rd in Winter Park, FL at Stardust Video! Great job!! 🙌

One of Gainesville’s grungiest bands, ISSUE OF DESTINY were in with us for a full boot camp session of knocking out 8 songs in one day! Really cool, dynamic and moody songs reminiscent of some Bleach era - NIRVANA , TAD, ALICE IN CHAINS and maybe even a little JANE’S ADDICTION in the mix. You can actually check them out live , this Friday July 19th at the always awesome Samurai Skate Shop! 🌪️ 🛹
