On this the 51st March for Life, we reaffirm our dedication to defending human life from conception to natural death. Every year since our founding, Christendom College has canceled classes so that the entire college community can witness to life together for this important annual event.
Today, we invite you to watch this video and join us in reflecting on the inherent beauty and dignity of each person. Conviction about this principle gives us the courage to always remain faithful through persevering prayer for the soul of our nation.
Please join us in praying for and upholding the dignity of every human life, especially the unborn. Know that your Christendom family continues to pray for you and your loved ones. Together we can build a culture that cherishes life.
Pax Christi! Though secular society seeks to cast off the past in the name of alleged "progress," we at Christendom believe in the importance of history. Many wise men and women who have come before us have a great deal of wisdom to share.
Today, we invite you to join us in reflecting upon the wisdom and insight of one of these men, the Greek historian Plutarch. His writings, rich in beauty, truth, and goodness, still uplift and inspire us today, although written nearly two thousand years ago.
May the wisdom of the ancients continue to guide us amidst the turmoil of our modern world. Please know that your Christendom family is always praying for you and your loved ones.
Pax Christi! In our world so focused on moving forward, one can forget to look to the past. With our shared history disappearing amidst todays' secularism, we are losing our cultural identity. However, a wise pontiff of recent years knew well the value of history and how it can help us turn the cultural tide.
We invite you to join us today to reflect on Pope St. John Paul II's insights on history and revelation. The important union of these concepts holds the key to rediscovering much of what modern man has forgotten and how we can retain our identity in Christ.
May the sagacity of this beloved pontiff help us appreciate the wealth of value found in our past and discover how to carry it with us into the future. Please know that your Christendom family is always praying for you.
Pax Christi! In today's world, it is undeniable that many young people are struggling with depression, loneliness, and similar difficulties. How are we as Christians to respond to this crisis?
Today, we invite you to join us in reflecting upon the wisdom offered by St. Benedict and Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati. Both had a special love for the youth, and their advice is invaluable for us today. Through their example, we too can reach the young people in our lives and draw them nearer to Christ, the Great Physician, Who heals all our ills.
Please know that your Christendom family prays for you continually, and we greatly appreciate your support of our mission to form young men and women in Christ.
Pax Christi! Since the fall of Adam and Eve, suffering has been a tragic part of the human experience. In the face of pain and difficulties, it can be easy to lose hope. However, there is always hope in Christ.
Today, we invite you to join us in exploring the joyful witness left by so many early Christians of how Christ's love can bring joy in the midst of even the greatest sorrow. Through their example, they transformed and inspired the broken world around them. And today, they can undoubtedly inspire us as well.
May we always be open to the joy Christ wishes to give us, the joy that will transform society and reclaim it for Christ. Please know that your Christendom family is always praying for you and your family.

Pax Christi! The world we live in has always been a turbulent place, but with the public rejection of Christianity, it has become easier than ever to become discouraged by the tumultuous nature of earthly life.
However, the light continues to shine in the darkness, no matter how frightening this darkness may seem. The wise poet T.S. Eliot understood this well, and today we invite you to join us in reflecting on his insights, as well as the hope we receive from Christ, the Lord of History.
Through Eliotβs sagacity, may we be renewed in the hope that only Christ offers, and live the lives God has given us. Please know that your Christendom family, in the midst of these difficult times, continues to pray for you and your family.
Pax Christi! The world which we inhabit today has sadly created a false opposition between faith and reason. Although we as Catholics know that faith and reason are truly united, many do not see it that way. They present a false dichotomy between faith and reason, which causes widespread cultural confusion.
Today, join us in reflecting upon the causes and effects of this cultural confusion, but also on the hope we have in the face of these difficulties. Our Lord promised that He would teach us the truth, and the truth would set us free. Only in the union of faith and reason is the fullness of truth to be found.
Through Divine Providence and the Catholic liberal arts education we are blessed to offer to students, we have reason to hope that the true unity of faith and reason will be restored in society. Please know that your Christendom family is praying for you, and we greatly appreciate your support of our mission to uphold the Truth.

Pax Christi! In the breakneck pace of modern life, it can seem impossible to manage our own lives, much less change the lives of others. Society tells us to be content with mediocrity. In this setting, how can we make a difference?
Today, join us in reflecting on the life of St. Hyacinth, whose life shows us that God can work miracles and brings thousands of souls to Himself if we live our vocations fervently and faithfully. May his story inspire us to live our Faith boldly as examples to our families and communities.
May St. Hyacinth grant us his steadfast courage, and may the love of Christ compel us to be His hands and feet in a world so in need of Him. Please know that your Christendom family is praying for you as we ask St. Hyacinth to pray for us all!
The Irreplaceable Role of Mothers
Pax Christi! On this Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Mother, we want to revisit Pope St. John Paul II's reflection on motherhood. As Mary became the Mother of the Church and the Mother of Our Lord, she is an indispensable model to turn to in these troubled times.
In our culture today, where the very idea of "woman" is a topic of much debate, let us ground ourselves in the teachings of the Church. Through the intercession of the Blessed Mother, let us pray that society comes to a
greater understanding and reverence for this most crucial role.
May Our Blessed Mother watch over us, her children, and hold us tenderly in her gentle arms. Please know that your Christendom family is praying for you and your family on this joyful feast day!
A Gift and Inspiration for Our Times
NEW VIDEO! Pax Christi! In todayβs society, the peace of Christ can frequently seem out of reach, as we live surrounded by the anxieties of work, family, and negative media. The need for the hope and inspiration found only in Christ is, undoubtedly, one which we all keenly feel.
Today, we invite you to join us in exploring the life of Blessed Carlo Acutis. His youthful and passionate devotion to Our Lord serves as a wonderful source of inspiration. Bl. Carloβs love for the Eucharist, and the exuberant example of faith he provides, show that great holiness is indeed possible even in these current dark times.
May the story of this holy youthβs love for Christ bring peace and hope to you and your loved ones. Please know that your Christendom family is praying for you, and may the same Spirit Who inspired Bl. Carlo inspire you as well.
A Saint to Inspire Your Travels
With summer here, now is a wonderful time to make plans for travel and vacation!
Today, we'd like to invite you to listen to the story of St. Godric of Finchale, a saint who loved travel and adventure. His love for travel brought him many new friends and sites and gave him countless exciting opportunities. We hope St. Godricβs story inspires you to take a trip this summer and to look for Godβs blessings wherever you may go.
Advice from C.S. Lewis
With our world of screens and noise, the pastime of reading great literature is falling away.
Today, we'd like to reshare this video and review the importance of reading literature as it is described in the words of that much-loved author, C.S. Lewis.
Reading and sharing stories of all kinds helps us appreciate the beauty and goodness of reality. We at Principles, along with C.S. Lewis, encourage you to find a book, sit down in this beautiful, warm weather, and read!
The Necessity of Rest and Contemplation
With the school year winding down and summer so near, we'd like to take the next couple of weeks to revisit some of our favorite Principles for Your Week videos!
This week letβs consider the necessity of rest and contemplation as described in the words of the late Pope Benedict XVI.
Now is a good time of year to step out of the busy day-to-day and refocus on what is most important. By taking a good break from our usual hustle and bustle, we are able to find peace, joy, and order upon returning to work, school, and our daily tasks.
Confusing Evil for Good
NEW VIDEO! Our Lord told us, βEnter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is easy, that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are manyβ (Mt 7:13).
Sadly, many men and women today are traveling down the wide, easy way. They are led by lies rather than Truthβand they donβt even know it. There is a deep confusion in our culture. The good, true, and beautiful have been rejected. Our society is in open rebellion against Godβs loving plan.
Today, I invite you to listen to these wise words from Bishop Fulton Sheen on how our culture confuses evil for good. Please join me in praying for the grace to joyfully proclaim the Truth in every situation.
Philosophy as a Gateway to Divine Love
NEW VIDEO! βCome, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful and enkindle in them the fire of Thy Divine Love.β
Truly practicing our Faith is more than just checking boxes or following rules. Catholicism is meant to transform our lives radically as we seek a deep relationship with Our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Today, I invite you to join me in considering the words of three men who, throughout the ages, fell in love with our Faith and sought to share it with those around them. May we, like these men, come to realize the incredible power of Godβs divine love and strive every day to return it to Him.
NEW VIDEO! Our culture seems obsessed with the word "tolerance," promoting it as the great virtue of the twenty-first century. According to secular ideologies, the greatest act of love is to tolerate the beliefs and practices of those with whom one disagrees. However, Christianity has other ideas about tolerance, particularly with regard to those practices and notions that conflict with Truth.
Today, I would like to invite you to listen to a reflection on tolerance by Venerable Archbishop Fulton Sheen, a hero for Catholicism in our darkened times. Inspired by his words, may we strive to be men and women of conviction, holding to the Truth and standing firm in our intolerance to evil.
Pope St. John XXIII and the Defense of the Truth
NEW VIDEO! Many in our world want to live their lives guided by personal feeling rather than truth. They see truth as something frightening, harsh, inconvenient, or old-fashioned. But Christ said, βYou will know the truth, and the truth will make you freeβ (Jn. 8:32).
Truth matters. And now more than ever we must be ready to stand up for the truth. God has a plan for human nature. And He calls us to be brave and joyful witnesses to the reality and beauty of that plan.
I invite you now to listen to the powerful words of a saintly pope on the dangers of denying objective truth. This week, may we all renew our commitment to living in and loving the Truth Himself, Jesus Christ.
A Fundamental Truth the College Has Embraced Since Its Founding
NEW VIDEO! Martin Luther once said, "Reason is...the greatest enemy that faith has." But the Catholic Church could not disagree more!
Today, I invite you to join Christendom College president Dr. Timothy O'Donnell in considering the beautiful union of faith and reason, through which we discover Truth amidst our fallen world. Together, these fundamental principles bring about order in our lives, guiding us to the source of all Truth in God Himself. May we forever cherish the union of faith and reason and help those around us to do the same.
C.S. Lewis on the Necessity of Natural Law
NEW VIDEO! βThere are a dozen views about everything until you know the answer. Then there's never more than one.β
C.S. Lewis' novel That Hideous Strength is, in fact, a literary examination of his philosophical work entitled The Abolition of Man. Both examine the ideas of Natural Law, objective Truth, and what happens when man rejects them and strives to live by subjectivity.
Today, please join me in reflecting on the necessity of Natural Law as seen through Lewis' ideas. May we strive to help renew the belief in objective Truth in our society.
St. Anthony
NEW VIDEO! βSaint Anthony, Saint Anthony, please come 'round. Something is lost and must be found.β
Many Christians pray these words often, asking Saint Anthony for his assistance in finding their missing things. But do you know the story behind this powerful intercessor?
Today, I would like to invite you to watch this video and learn more about St. Anthony's impactful life. May we, like the Patron Saint of Lost Items, be able to speak passionately and eloquently about our Faith, drawing all those around us to find, believe, and fall in love with Truth.
