Hi! So many of you know that Bruce had juvenile gingivitis detected at one of his early well kitten visits...his gums were swollen and red...and he already had plaque and tartar buildup...and we were able to turn that around very quickly! 6 months later - his gums are healthy!
We brush twice a day...he does not love this...but he tolerates it! Morning brushing is with a cat toothpaste...and night brushing after dinner is with coconut oil and 1/4 teaspoon of Benebac probiotic powder...followed by a wipe of all teeth with chlorhexadine wipes...and then a spray of colloidal silver spray.
Is all of that needed? Probably not - but his gums and teeth look so much better! We now take 10 minutes at night to brush everyone and give them a spray and wipe down!
It's not a myth that Maine C***s have teeth issues...brushing is necessary - get them used to it early on! An infant tooth brush from Walmart and some coconut oil is all you need to start! :)
