What’s up everyone! I know it’s been a long time again, but I wanted to do quick update and a recap of the year. A lot happened but I haven’t really shared anything with ya’ll so here we go.

I’d say 2024 was one of the most productive and creative years of my artistic journey thus far. I made some real strides in improving my skill sets, and I’ve never been more in love with my work than ever before. It feels like I’m better able to really capture the images I see in my head with more accuracy and it makes me so happy.

I also made a this year and started my journey into self publishing, which has also been awesome. It’s a wonderful experience exploring a new medium and learning about what I could do within it. Thank you to everyone who purchased an issue of . It means a lot! If you want one of your own, go check out my website!

This will also be the reveal of my next zine. For those of you who remember, I did a series called “The Agents of Sin.” It was a small series exploring Demons and operator type characters representing the Seven Deadly Sins and how they would work together. I’ve spent the past 8 months redoing the entire series, adding new artwork, and creating lore to go along with them. This post is snippets from the new work! Updates to begin in earnest as I start wrapping it up.

I guess we’re all doin this??

Made a profile. I’ll be uploading to it when I can. I’m pretty ambivalent about AI art. I’d like to believe that human creativity will win out in the long run over generative imagery.

AI, at this point, seems to be really good at remixing and blending things together to create an output. It’s great at working with already established inputs, but not at creating new things. Once that output is generated, we as humans decide wether it has value or not.

WE DECIDE WHAT HAS VALUE AND WHAT DOES NOT.

We ,as humans, have the agency to see and experience things as creative, fresh, and new. We, as humans, can decide wether or not we want to assign creative and economic value to generative images. It’s our choice. We can be afraid of it, or we can blaze a path of our own and generate our own ideas, images, and projects.

A.P.U - Anti Poaching Unit: Finale

Hope you guys enjoyed the APU series. This theme of sci-fi drone anti poaching is pretty much a permanent fixture in my work now, so there will always be more of this moving forward. Some of you may remember my Big Five series which is where all of this began.

A.P.U - Anti Poaching Unit: Pacific Conservation Coalition Leatherback Sea Turtle Drone

Leatherback drones are used mainly in an observational capacity and can be deployed for months at a time. They use extra support drones to increase their effectiveness. These extra drones are either Remoras, which clamp onto its back; or Pilot Fish with school together around it. Offensively, Leatherbacks are used as underwater propulsion platforms for marine rangers; allowing for quick maritime interventions.

The Pacific Conservation Coalition is a multinational organization composed of various Polynesian and Oceanic nations. They perform multiple functions including maritime law enforcement, anti poaching, and conservation/observation. Given the vast size of the Pacific, the PCC employs a wide variety of drones, both maritime and aerial. These include Albatrosses, Dolphins, Manta Rays, and the only Blue Whale drone platform on the planet.

A.P.U - Anti Poaching Unit: Sea of Cortez Marine APU

One of the rarest animals on the planet at this time, Vaquitas are a critically endangered species of porpoise found only in the Sea Cortez in northern Mexico. On the verge of extinction, many conservation efforts have been initiated by multiple organizations around the world to save the remaining Vaquitas. As a drone, Vaquitas are used exclusively for observation and tracking. Their small size makes them very fast and agile, perfect for tracking animals and identifying illegal fishing vessels.

The Sea of Cortez Marine APU is an extension of the Mexican Army that is funded exclusively by the tourism industry in the Sea of Cortez. These funds are collected from major resorts, charter tour companies, and from non-citizen land owners in the area. The SoCM APU then uses these resources to run marine patrols to curb illegal fishing and protect/enforce dedicated no-fishing zones. Their presence is widely known as they continue their mission to preserve the Sea of Cortez for future generations.

A.P.U - Anti Poaching Unit: Afghani Mountain Rangers Snow Leopard Drone 🇦🇫🇦🇫🇦🇫

Snow Leopard drones are designed to operate in extreme conditions. Able to effortlessly traverse sheer cliffs and towering rock faces, they are incredibly agile and adroit. Poaching incidents are fairly difficult to follow up on in the Afghan mountains, making the Snow Leopard the perfect solution for observational/tracking and for pursuit. All Snow Leopard drones come equipped with an optical camouflage system allowing it to further blend into its surroundings making it effectively invisible.

The Afghani Mountain Rangers are an elite group of trained men and women who patrol the mountainous regions of Afghanistan. Essentially an auxiliary unit to the national army, they are well trained and have intimate knowledge of the land. Their primary tasks are border protection and keeping tabs on remote communities followed by conservation and law enforcement. Though small and underfunded, they have proven to be effective at carrying out their missions.

A.P.U - Anti Poaching Unit: Virunga South APU Silverback Drone🇨🇩🇨🇩🇨🇩

Silverback Gorilla Drones are used for both active anti-poaching operations and passive observation roles. Strong, stout, and swift; they are adept at maneuvering through the high dense mountain jungles of Virunga. Capable of going toe-to-toe with a Lion drone, they are fearsome opponents in combat. While physically powerful, they are a rarer model making them semi expensive to maintain due to scarcity of parts and lack of skilled labor.

The Virunga South APU has been forced to work in a multifunctional capacity; serving as park wardens, veterinarians, and as a very small pseudo PMC. Given the nature of conflicts in the region, drastic measures had to be implemented to protect the few remaining Mountain Gorillas in Virunga National Park. Though small and rather ragtag, the APU has worked tirelessly to protect the park, it’s wildlife, and the surrounding communities; creating a sort of safe haven for all.

A.P.U - Anti Poaching Unit: Barong APU Sunda Tiger Drone 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩

Tiger Drones are the primary offensive drones in the Barong APU drone force. Fearsome, fast, and durable they are the ultimate hunters of the jungle. Masters of ambushing and stalking, they are very difficult to shake off once on target. When working in tandem with other ranger units, they are practically unstoppable.

Formed in the mid 21st century, they are dedicated to protecting the few remaining species in the region. A.P.U - Anti Poaching Unit: Barong APU Orangutan Drone 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩

Orangutan drones work as observational drones instead of offensively. Equipped with a suite of cameras and sensors, they perch high up the trees to observe and record their surroundings. The ribbons adorning it’s body help mask it’s heat and EM signatures, further obscuring it’s presence. If absolutely necessary, male units can be used as electronic warfare platforms: jamming communications, scrambling sensors, and hacking hostile drones.

Of all the drones in the Barong APU, Rhino drones are the most common. Though large compared to their human partners, they blend well into the dense jungle making them perfect for ambush operations or wildlife observation. Ranked among the most endangered species in the region, Javan Rhino drones play a crucial part in tracking and protecting the few remaining Javan Rhinos left in the world.

A.P.U - Anti Poaching Unit: Barong APU Asian Elephant Drone 🇮🇩🇮🇩🇮🇩

Useful in navigating the thick dense jungles of Southeast Asia, Asian Elephant drones are prized for their strength and durability. Used as a mobile headquarters, Elephant drones are built to serve as rallying points for active ranger patrols. As such, they come equipped with a suite of communications and anti-drone systems as well a plethora of mounting points to hold gear and/or personnel.

Rougarou: Sketches. Some preliminary sketches for the Rougarou characters. I like to take this time to try out different poses, shapes, costumes, and color palettes to see what looks good and what doesn’t. Most of the time, the final is usually a mix of many of these put together.

Rougarou: Post Civil War. In the time known as Reconstruction, Rougarous played an important part in protecting share croppers and former slaves as they formed new communities and rebuilt their lives. Consisting of freed slaves, former soldiers, and farmers; they served as a secretive neighborhood watch. This was also when Hoodoo and Voodoo were utilized as a means to help them perform their tasks.

It was really fun doing this piece and I had a whole scenario of Lycans in the Civil War running through my head as I did it. Could be worth revisiting down the road.

Rougarou: Today. Modern day Rougarous take on a very distinct appearance, with a mix of tactical gear and flourishes of Hoodoo, Voodoo, and bushcraft. Many pieces of a Rougarous kit can be hand-me-down pieces from past Rougarous, continuing their legacy while aiding the current generations.

MCCI Vol.01: Rougarou.

Rougarou explores Louisiana Lycan culture and the vigilantes known as the Rougarous. Magic, the occult, and technology all exist simultaneously in this world filled with secrets and hidden dangers. The Rougarous are charged with protecting their parishes from the lurking evils of the swamps. Learn about the history, equipment, and specializations of the Rougarous and how they go about completing their tasks.

Rougarou: Witch Doctor. A Witch Doctor harnesses powerful Voodoo and effigies to manipulate their targets. As advanced magic users they must mask their appearance to protect themselves from others trained in craft. Floating above the ground, they appear like one of the dolls they use on their targets.

Pythons were brought to Louisiana in the mid 21st century by magic users drawn to the bayou. Unable to keep them as they grew large, many were released into the swamps and have since decimated local ecosystems. Bounties are in place for all specimens, live or dead.

The hunting of Super Pythons (Pythons over 30ft in length) has become a profitable but dangerous venture for Rougarou teams. Massive in size, they are also magic resistant, making them formidable targets. Regular Pythons pay by the foot, where as Super Pythons pay by weight.

Rougarou: Farouche. A Farouche (French: “fierce”) is a rare specialist type of Rougarou. Using powerful Hoodoo, they are able to summon powerful spectral limbs to devastate their foes. However, caution must be taken when fielding a Farouche as they are prone to violent outbursts and losing control.
