OFFICIAL TITLE LOGO
Iron Tides is an ongoing series published by Blackmoss Comics. In we explore the ever evolving relationship between two “sisters” brought together by tragic circumstances and watch as their enhancements complicate things even further. For one, the line between survival and villainy is becoming is a boundary she doesn’t mind overstepping. For the other, the permanent loss of her sister is something she’s just not ready to accept.

Real Name: Sabit Anuar
Age: 24 H: 5’9” W: 187 lbs

Enhancement: Sabit fancied himself a bit of a “street hustler” in the days before the Enhancement; scraping together a life as the youngest of 5, by whatever means necessary. His gambits, games and tricks were well known by the locals, but tourists and bleeding hearts were easy targets. Never a big kid, it was his charisma and manipulation of his circumstances, paired with a vicious meanstreak that garnered him a reputation amongst the criminal underground. With E-Day, Sabit’s physiology changed drastically, as bony spines began to emerge all over his body. He also gained the ability to breathe underwater indefinitely, heightened swim speeds and sensory enhancements. As Bristle, he’s also shown the ability to grow in size/mass when angered or threatened. Now, having also learned to use his spikes as projectiles and as defensive weapons, he commands a small force of like-minded ne’er do wells.

Enhancement: Not too much is known about Yokaidro prior to his emergence post E-Day. However, local legend about a malevolent spirit does speak of an entity with similar capabilities terrorizing the South Pacific waterways before any of the enhanced had been born. So, it’s possible his powers are derived from a pre-existing source. Yokaidro has the ability to inject oxygen, on a molecular level, in to any liquid. He’s been known to replace the water & blood in his enemies bodies with air; essentially suffocating them from the inside out. Currently, he floats atop the region’s criminal food chain, residing in an oxygen-rich palace deep beneath the Yellow Sea.

Real Name: Jiao Zheng
Age: 24 H: 5’5” W: 117 lbs
E-Type: EN03
E-Date: +17 Days
Enhancement: Jiao endured a horrific childhood, experiencing years of torment through neglect coupled with physical abuse at the hands of her father. By her teenage years, she’d become used to the beatings, the days on end without food or water and the late night calls. Conditioned to feel nothing, even in the most horrendous situations, Jiao became numb to the outside world. When she became Enhanced, that “conditioning” manifested in a most peculiar way. Now, as Smirk, she can tolerate (nay enjoy) extreme amounts of physical pain, absorbing it’s energy. She can then redistribute that stored pain through physical touch to devastating effect. Smirk is the closest thing Yokaidro has to a partner and lover.

Enhancement: The Last Templar is the embodiment of humanity’s legacy across the ages. It is unclear if the person bearing the cross we see today is a product of the Enhancement or arrived at his abilities through other means. What IS known, is that since the 12th Century at any given time, as little as one or as many as a thousand have bore this specific Templar’s mantle. The stories tell of a contemptuous faction amongst the Knight’s Templar, who at great peril to themselves, defied their superiors to break free from the violence and aggression of their crusade; focusing instead on God’s benevolence. Since then, at least one Templar has stood before mankind to help navigate threats of a spiritual nature. It is rumored that every member of this specific order have taken a solemn Oath, committing their souls to its cause; this connection is believed to bolster each soldier physically and spiritually. Upon a members death, their previously pledged “life force” is redistributed amongst the surviving members - strengthening and fortifying their resolve. The Last Templar is the only remaining, and most powerful of his brethren. He possesses the Edge of Smite, which is believed to be the sword God used to cast Lucifer from Heaven. He has augmented strength, enhanced durability, accelerated healing & above peak human levels of speed, dexterity, cognition and acrobatics. He is an expert in all forms of combat/martial arts with mastery in all application of weapons.

BLIND FAITH
Blind Faith

Real Name: Faith Doumani

Enhancement: Faith grew up in a besieged portion of Lebanon, and aside from the occasional shelling had a fairly standard upbringing. But soon after her 12th birthday, Faith was abducted by a radical sect of Christian extremists who believed she was the ‘chosen’ surrogate to bring about the Second Coming. Her captors, these beacons of Christ, each believed it was THEY who would sire the new Messiah; and so they took turns ravaging Faith’s body & soul. After years of torture, and frustration as the encounters bore no fruit, she finally fought back; only to have her eyes taken in retaliation. Because her tormentors believed solely in God’s divine intervention, it was only after her release that a doctor was able to tell Faith, she’d been barren all along. Despite all of this, she has remained loyal to her one, true Yahweh. And upon becoming Enhanced, she finally felt powerful enough to fulfill her one true purpose. As Blind Faith, she has a “sight” that allows her to sense peoples actions before they’re made and her conviction in the “rightfulness” of her own actions give her a radar-like vision. She uses her custom wrist gauntlets to cut down those who would use God’s name to harm others.

Enhancement: There are stories told of another born to a mother without sin; pure of heart and body. Only, this boy’s mother died under mysterious circumstances, less than 2 years after his birth. Upon her death, the child known only as Moses was adopted by an extremely orthodox enclave of Haredi Jews, heralded for their strict adherence. There is no information about the boy after this time, but it is theorized that he is the person who’s emerged since E-Day known as Lawgiver. As one of the Enhanced, he has the ability to divide any two objects, both inanimate or organic, wields the burning “Hand of God” which can cause immeasurable damage and while nearly mute, his “word is Law”. Any utterance from the mouth of Lawgiver compels those in his presence to commit to ANY action, emotion or desire he commands. Though seldom used, it has proven indefensible.
