Absolutely one of my all time favorite albums.
Not too many albums are seamless from top to bottom and this is certainly one of them.
I saw these guys on their first album tour when they were opening for Aerosmith and they were great.
The thing about a strong first album, it’s allot of pressure on the band to prove if they are a one time thing or the real deal.
The shows they did with Jimmy Page are legendary, and only a group of their caliber could have made that happen
They absolutely have proven over the years that they deserve the title of one of the greatest rock bands of our time.

At the LA Fireaid show last week, I had them on my stage.
When John Fogerty was soundchecking with the band, Chris Robinson walked over to me at the side of the stage with a huge smile on his face.
He said to me, “Man how cool is this? We all have been jamming to his songs our whole lives, it’s like in our DNA”.
We had a good laugh because all I could do was agree with him.
The two of us singing along and fanning out over John Fogerty together was awesome.

It’s not often that you see musicians really enjoying other artists, it’s the difference between the ones who play music and the ones who really love music.
The Black Crowes are definitely both. 😉
